Am arranging the helper to attend the Home-Based training on CPR and AED by SG Caregiver. Fee is $10 after the grant. If the process of applying for the grant is simple, I will explore further in FY22.
Most welcome.

Hi have this maid for 4years+ and she didn’t have health problems. Recently, she said she can’t see things afar and wish to check up. She is nearing 40 years old. Probably she needs to wear spectacles liao (i think). Can I just bring her to a public hospital eye clinic or must get referral from Polyclinic ?

Think it’s better u either bring her to a recognized optician or to a GP. SG hospitals treat FDW as a foreigner under the costlier foreigner charges for treatment, unless u had purchased non-typical FDW insurance that covers ophthalmological treatments & others. A very dear Filipino FDW was past 50 & her eyer kept picking on her mistakes fr her failing eyesight & I brought her to my optician, o’wise she can’t afford to pay for her prescriptions & may loose her eyer’s confidence.

What we received as low cost treatment at SG PolyClinics & cheaper hospital treatment with referral fr PolyClinics does not apply to any foreigner incl FDW. -

Let her try the spectacles at daiso? My friend brought her maid there and it solved the problem.

u had purchased non-typical FDW insurance that covers ophthalmological treatments & others - esteema, just to clarify what do you mean ? I thought all FDW insurance only covers for hospitalisation ? got insurance that covers for ophthalmological treatments & others ?

I believe there’s none, unless u’ve discovered an insurer willing to take yr high stakes for covering a treasured FDW. So, you probably traced yr path to get that prescription for yr FDW that fits yr pocket?
