P4 is the adjustment year, while P5 is the IRS, IvP or FPS year.

Usually the GEP kids will start their psle preparation proper at the beginning of P6.

I know of a few centres that provide specialized psle crash courses designed to get GEP kids on track for the PSLE exams.

These are some of the more popular tuition centres that specialize in helping GEP and High-ability students succeed in the all important PSLE exams.

Anyone has feedback on TLL or GATE for math / creative writing for GEP kids? DS didn’t have tuition except for Chinese in P1-3 but I foresee he may struggle for math at a higher level. Also, is GEP Chinese same as mainstream higher Chinese?
GEP students who choose higher Chinese do enriched HCL. eHCL Curriculum incorporates greater emphasis on higher order thinking.

It depends on the school. If SAP school then maybe yes.

My DD’s school not SAP but they have their HCL on their own in P4. While DS’s SAP school offer it from P4 onward together with selected MS

Thanks for reply! Enriched HCL sounds like challenging. Kiddo already struggling with HCL. I suppose will see how he copes and wait for advice from school.

For my boy in SAP school, GEP students mingles with selected mainstream students in the enriched HCL class. GEP HCL teacher is different with the mainstream HCL teacher. They use the same text books but different exam format. You may check with the school for more details.
