Yes, the stages where it is oversubscribed every year is for those >2km. But don't forget they are reducing the Phase 2A cohort by 20 places. So I don't know if the subscription will remain the same. But for now, those staying <1km should be safe :xedfingers: -
Thank you! Last question is there any info on the balloting history?
-
Any thoughts on the odds for 2A >2km? Completely 0 chance, ie don’t bother or very poor odds (what % though)? Headache!
-
SC more than 2 km (phase 2A1), need to ballot. Whether can get in or not, depend on your own luck.
Meanwhile, just get another Phase 2B or 2C school on standby.
Eg.
CHIJ Nativity, CHIJ OLGC, CHIJ Katong, CHIJ Kellock, St Margaret primary, Haig Girls, Marymount Convent primary, you can consider all these schools. No headache -

If you do not have another school at 2A, then might as well just apply here.

Hi parents, can I please check if the results for Parent Volunteer 2022 (for primary school admission in 2024) is out yet? It’s supposed to be out on the 15th February but until now no news. I live within 1KM. I will be grateful to anyone with information or if you already received acceptance. Thanks!

The hype about 2A need to ballot is overhyped and not true at all. Don’t believe the fearmongers and start doing ridiculous drastic actions like moving house when we are eligible for 2A..

It’s only the bumper years of SG50 (born in 2015) those kids turned 6 in 2021. In the year before 2020, the babies born in 2014.. was also a bumper fertility year, but nobody knows why for 2014 there was a spike in births. The 2015 spike was due to SG50. I googled and true enough, 2014

So those parents who were so delighted to receive those free packages from the government in 2015, well you now know those things did not come for free.
By 2017, fertility rate fell to a 6 year low liao! And Born in 2017 babies will be applying for primary 1 in 2023. https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/number-of-births-in-singapore-fell-to-eight-year-low-in-2017
There’s no need to move house. And by 2020 which is my girl’s birth year it fell to “historic low”.
