Hello ! I am in need of some help . My dd is invited for e2k science but it clashes with her cca and she has to give up her current cca. I know e2k is considered a cca in her pri sch but just wondering if there is an equivalent club in secondary sch? Since many ccas in sec sch are admiting based on previous cca . I am just worried she will not be able to join any cca in sec sch which seems to be crucial for future admission to jc uni etc

My DD1 was selected for E2K during primary school days. In her primary school, E2K was not considered an CCA so she took up infocomm. Though she liked Infocomm back then, surprisingly she had no intention to continue with the same CCA when she moved on to secondary school.

Most of the CCAs in her secondary school requires students to go for auditions/trial. She was successful in her audition and ended up with a new CCA which she now enjoys a lot.

As for E2K Science, the cert came in handy when she decided to apply for DSA via the Science domain.

Thanks for ur reply . In my school seems that it is a cca as i found in on the cca list. So if the kid has no experience she can still go for cca audition for some cca?

DD1 said that when she went for the audition, the interviewers asked her if she had prior experience and she replied no. However, she got through the audition.

For my DD2, she’s currently a student leader for her CCA but when she moves on to sec 1 next year, she has to pick another CCA as her dream school does not have the same CCA.

Friend’s daughter was in school team for debate but her daughter decided that she had enough and moved on to try other CCAs. Thus, I suspose prior experience is good to have but not needed. The main thing is to be able to pass the audition/interview.

Maybe you can let your daughter make the final decision if she prefers to continue with her CCA or give it up and switch to E2K.

She is in a dilema so i am trying to weigh the pros and cons for her.

                  Dear All,

My son is in P5 and is in e2k science and Maths since p4. Can someone kindly advice if e2k is helpful for DSA. As anyone applied for
DSA using e2k? Since they are the first batch in his school we do not have any senior parents to guide us. Thank you in advance.

A short answer is-it might affect, if u are looking at continuing a particular cca and to DSA..

eg. band - best is to follow through pri to sec if u want a particular expertise in the instrument and have interest to do so even at JC level.

but having said these, there are students who join totally different ccas at pri n sec level.

i know of a friend's dd.. joined band in pri but didn't wana continue at sec... so joined robotics where she had a new found interest even though the sec sch had band cca.

If u are looking to DSA, will be good to look at sec schs who offer DSA through sciences.. im not sure of the list, but i know like Catholic High offered my other friend's DS DSA confirmed offer through science while he had no E2K experiences in pri sch.

ultimately, i think the child just needs to exhibit the interest n aptitude when u get into the sec sch or wana apply dsa to the sch
May I ask how does he get a CO offer through science if he has no E2K or Science Olympiads? Solely through his science school results?

Dear fellow parents, can a student do both E2k Science and E2k Math? Or he can only do one?

If it's possible to do both, how is the workload like? Are there a lot of assignments?

My child is invited to do the E2k Science. He likes both Science and Math and he is thinking whether it is possible to do both.

                      Thank you! 🙂
