True. Talked with American PR returning for holidays. She was so surprised that Sg has to use
track & trace, abide by max 5 pax limit, and employee vaccine mandate. US don't have any of these right now. Even Biden's vaccine mandate was struck down by the courts.
And they can travel freely to other states without any checking. And to Mexico without any VTL.

That's why many foreign PMETs are leaving Singapore.

Sg has become like a dystopian state as compared with even the most stringent state in US. And Sg'eans think that this is normal. Docile Sg'eans think that this is the only way to live after 2 years of fear indoctrination. But foreigners don't buy this crap. They respond with their feet.

The upside is that there are lots more PMET job opportunities for Sg'eans.

Singapore is different: small and not as much leeway as other countries.

How many are died from Covid 19 in USA up to today? Approx...925,000. And how many are died from Covid 19 in Singapore...866. For those who died from Covid 19 in USA, what is more important? Your life or your personal freedom?

When you are infected and fell ill but find that all hospitals are fully occupied and no more bed for you.

Then do you still think those tightening social measures in Singapore are unnecessary?

Agree. We can’t compare big countries with small country, nor can we overlook the density of cities.

Spore, Japan & HK are denser than countries like NZ, Germany & the US where ppl can walk their streets w/o worry being sneezed & catching viruses within range. Even the Japanese who are known to wear masks when not well long before covid still grappling with high covid numbers. Our population is denser & if ppl do not continue vigilance with social distancing, transmissions will continue to increase.

The biggest gap is an expectation for situation to revert to that before Covid19 exist. Unfortunately, that is unlikely, within this generation.
Black Death that devastated Europe in the 14th century lasted 7 years - 1346 to 1353

Spanish flu in early 20th century lasted 2 years: 1918-1919

Both ended naturally by themselves. And that were hundreds year ago where human were relatively backward in medical science.

Now we are very much more advanced medically than centuries ago. 1 of our senior politician’s view : we will return to normalcy in 5 years after COVID 19 started.

We can have optimism we can go back to normal life soon. But we should also be prepared new pandemics will come back again, and go through the cycles of normalcy/ pandemics.

Errrr...looks like XJP isn't ready to open up full air connectivity/any safe travel lanes for students. So much for travelling all the way there to Beijing to \"give face\" and to freeze with the pro-China authoritarian leaders... Thought could get some benefit out from Xi Dada with this trip.

Instead, got the Panda conservation & research MOU and some unknown student hostel name in Chongqing. Very \"fruitful\" indeed.

And look at our President. Like PM at the Trevi Fountain in Rome, she also didn't dare to remove her mask before dinner with Xi when others had already done so! haha!

If one receives a HRW, he can go to selected vending machines to collect 6 ART kits.

If one is ART positive, is he entitled to 6 ART kits?

Those ART kits sold on Qoo10 are pretty expensive. 6 ART kits would be... like at least $50. I don't even know got vending machines to dispense the kits. Are they free??

Recently, test kits at places like Guardian, Watsons, supermarkets etc have been around $5-$6 each, and a bit cheaper if bought in 10s or 20s. But looks like they are sold out in many places at the moment.

The vending machine kits are free, but only for those with official HRW. Not sure whether those who test positive and see a GP get any free. And those who test positive and don't see a GP can't get them free, unfortunately.
