Fyi, NY Median 86, Ejc Median 85.
In this case NY performance is in line with expectation, not spectacular. Do you know RI/HCI medians?

Ny cop is lower than Ejc , much lower than Acjc.
The next choice JC is obvious if many cant get into RI/HCI.

Njc, Vjc- dont need to bring in
Just 1 point lower. COP is not just the only consideration. NYJC lacks the wow factor to attract students with higher aspirations. Students who fear to pit themselves against IP students gravitate there.

As said, RI/HCI admit > 50% IPs or RI has 70% IPs as shared i think.
In this case, RI/HCI perf is in line with expectation, not spectacular. Their medians expected be higher.

Then other IP JCs with cop 7-8 or 8-9 but are IP JCs, perf below expectation?

To clarify, you are using how well a JC attracts top students as indicator of its performance?

Cop of most single digit JCs are 1-2 points difference.
Cop determines the Main eligibility to enter a JC, what you mean not just only con'n.

                Ny lacks wow factor...?
Every JCs has its own + points.

You did survey on students fearing to pit against IPs?
Thats just your own narrow or elitism mindset.

We know how well Ny has progressed as non IP JC.
                I rest my case.

To clarify I look at performance these way:

                  - RI/HCI getting academic stronger students than NY. And NY stronger students than EU
                  JC
                  - if RI/HCI A level performance is better than NY, this is expected because they enrol academic stronger students than NY. If NY A level performance is better than EU this is expected because NY is having academic stronger students than EU.
                  - but if NY A level performance is better then RI/HCI, this I will deem note worthy, because NY is turning those academically relatively weaker students than RI/HCI, into better performance than RI/HCI

                    Yes, agreed.
But 1 point to take note, EJC has
                    > 50% IPs vs Ny non IPs
                    Then who started comparing? Lol

Its obvious Ny is many students ' choiced JC.
How a JC value-adds to a student is a key consideration. Take a look at PSC Scholarships, the statistics for NYJC are nearly non-existent. Imagine getting top students but after 2 years, none could make the cut for prestigious scholarships, whereas even new JCs like EJC can produce a handful in its short history, one wonders if NYJC is value-subtracting its students?

If the COP is 1-2 point difference why bother making a song and dance out if it.

My friends kids aim to do well in O-levels. They are inspired to score 4 points to enter RI/HCI. So far I have not heard anyone says, “Oh, I aim to score 4 points (below) so that I can go to NYJC! ”.

Why do you keep talking about IP vs non IP? A Freudian slip of your own insecurities?

All the students join the JC orientation and start afresh. If one keeps thinking I am not as good as IP students, and to think that others are elites while they are not, then one can continue to gravitate there lor.

No wonder when it come to PSC interviews, NYJC students are always edged out by students of other JCs.
