Some of the advantages of using Telegram are :
I think some groups use Telegram because:
- the maximum number of people in the group is far larger than in Whatsapp
- personal phone numbers are not revealed in Telegram
[/quote]
1. Can Set up a Voting in the Chat Group
2. Can Control the time interval for each member when sending messages...that is each member can send out a new message only after X min after his/her previous message.
3. When a member is kicked out of the Chat Group, he/she cannot read any previous messages in the Chat. -

DD mentioned, I only come to WA to message you guys
OMG! Really?! But my friends are all still on Whatsapp... and so are my students. I would talk to them via Whatsapp regularly every week to figure out how they are doing with their projects. My students are all kids (18-22yo) leh...
Sorry chief but apparently they reserve the use of Whatsapp to communicate with older people. WA messages is not lost in the huge influx of messages , so let's take it that we are 'important' enough not to be mixed with the cluttered lot ... -

Haha chief, whatsapp is limited to only 250 members in a group. We have 17,000 members in our telegram group.
You might have gotten a greater influx if you had used Whatsapp instead of Telegram...

Even our Pediatricians sub group has over 500 parents inside, already larger than what whatsapp group size can permit.
And yes, like what some of the other members here pointed out earlier, the young mostly uses telegram instead of whatsapp. My mentees all prefer to use telegram rather than whatsapp. -
I am used to whatsapp too.

Last year someone here or where mentioned on the Telegram for Covid. I joined to just in case need help can reach out when needed.
