Dear experts, I have a question regarding the recent changes to the P1 2B registration policy for GRLs.


I am an active GRLs and will fulfil the 2 years requirement by the time of 2023 P1 registration.
I am living in a BTO flat at Bukit Batok, the flat will MOP in early 2023. I want to upgrade to a condo somewhere at Tampines before the P1 registration start.

My question is, can I request to continue to serve as a GRL at Bukit Batok until the end of the term, while register for a primary school at Tampines in Phase 2B using my new address (after purchasing the condo) .

HI experts, i have a question regarding joining GRL. MY Do will be under 2024 P1 registration for 2025 p1 and i understand now it’s the time to join as a GRL since there’s observer stage before confirming as an EM. However, my new house was delayed due to covid and we will only be able to have our NRIC change to new address probably Q2 or Q3 2022 which i am afraid that i may not be in time to volunteer 2 years. i went to the CC to apply as GRL and they told me i havent move into the new house thus i am unable to join as GRL? any of you encountered such case?


Hope any of you can help me and let me know what should i do.

I am a GRL in Tanjong Pagar and i was previously considering applying for SCGS
but now i will apply for CHIJ kellock
this affects me as well, but I think it is a fairer system and am supportive of it (I am all for equity in society)

In fact i hope they bring in regulation over time that you must stay 12 months PRIOR to the primary school balloting for your address to be considered eligible

May I ask how many letter of recommendation that qualify to phase 2B by each GRC?

As far as I know, there are no limits to how many endorsement letter that are given out. Only those who qualify can apply.

I believe the RC at your new house is full roster, thus unable to join even as observer. BTW its 3 months since this was posted, any updates?

Hello! If I’m working as GRL in Holland-Bukit Timah cashew division, can I try phase 2B for schools under other divisions? Or even schools under other GRC?

The new rule is, you can only choose the school within 2km from your home address regardless of which GRC you serve. So if your house address is under Holland Bukit Timah GRC but your target school is not under HBT GRC but within 2km, you can register under P2B.
