The clinics are all overwhelmed esp when omicron more transmissible. When I ran out of ART kits, I happened to hv made a prior appt to do my LPA & wanted to do my tests there at the same time, before I realized Q was so long & 2 of their staff was down with covid. Hospitals are receiving full loads as MIL’s colonoscopy was pushed back till June, as it’s deemed non-emergency procedure.
My nurses frds are all stressed out fr OT fr increasing case loads daily tt their hubby gotta help relieve them with relaxing moments & liangteh everyday to keep them fr puchuat. Wonder how is laughingcat doing. Hope her earlier break helped her packed some resilience to go thro tough times at the hospital.
It’s actually good to hv the Quick Test Centres to supervise & manage the anxieties of those with the light symptoms and who do not hv ART kits supply. These relieves the doctors at clinics & hospitals to treat those who need more specific medical care.
I actually prefer using the token for entry & exit as its troublesome for me to handle grocery or shopping yet having to open up hp app but w/o it is fine. When need to show my vacc status, it takes extra effort to slide my pin to get to my app, guess hv to comply to make things easy for eateries operators.
Looking forward to Omicron peak & hopefully by then covid is less oppressive on us human race to lead some form of normalcy. Once Omicron subsides & more ppl caught & overcame it, it shld be less affecting those vulnerable. That is the time I feel I want to be more liberated to live life with freedom again. 🤞🏻🙏🏻 -
I think authorities are treading a fine line between following the science and opening up mmore quickly, and pacifying those who are still fearful. Many people are unable to change their thinking quickly enough even though vaccination rates are high, the strain had changed, etc. Some are unwilling to countenance even 1 Covid death. But the change is coming; be patient. [I say this as much to myself as to anyone else - I am getting very impatient too.]
2 people in my office have tested positive over the past week - both have mild symptoms, but it’s causing unnecessary inconvenience to colleagues and family members. I also agree that we can do away with trace together and VDS - let those who are unvaccinated take measures to safeguard themselves, and save the ARTs for those who have significant symptoms. And make those who needlessly crowd the A&Es pay double. -
what about doing away with the self test etc? If we are to live with covid, just like we live with flu/influenza, the infected person just take a few days of MC …
After 2 to 3 years of closed border, more countries are opening up to revive their economy. Our country shld take advantage of this situation -

Yes, I agree with this too. Most ART kits should be reserved for use in hospitals and clinics when people present with significant symptoms. No need to have thousands of people self-testing so often. But again, we have to be patient with the fearful. I have some colleagues who are still hoping that fewer people will catch Covid, and say people should shelter at home till it \"goes away\"!

Yep, the grp who can be vaccinated but dun want to should not be high , they risked themselves to catch the virus , it’s their choice n they should pay for own full medical cost .
Totally agreed. Those who cant be vaccinated due to valid reasons shld be really the minority. There are some who still chose not to be vaccinated and I simply cant understand them.
Brought my girl for booster today , though we made appmt but the q is really fast , all done in 1/2 hrs - and I notice even walk in is the same q n waiting time . -
We have received notification for booster for one gal and another gal going for 2nd dose soon.
I somehow could feel for the group who worries more…coz it is still something that we don’t know what will happen in the future.
As for the current restrictions, are they very restrictive/very inconvenient? Except for big group gatherings or maybe others? to me I can just do whatever I want to do… put on mask/TT ok coz already got used to it. -
When we are under same roof with C+ person, so long as we are Art-, we are free to go out… to me lots of freedom le.

The authorities are just moving in stages as they gather more information. Their approach has always been to protect the majority because the hospital cannot support a high demand of sick people. Even the check-in for vaccination is also to protect the majority. Once they are more certain that the unvaccinated infected cannot make any impact on the majority and cause a hospital crunch, then the vaccination checking can stop.
However, I saw some shopping malls like Novena Velocity, some NTUC stores and the BreadTalk HQ Mall has the gantry installed for people to scan in and out with token or tracetogether app. If vaccination status is not cleared, the gantry won't open. If we are going for a longer haul, this gantry may become the norm for most buildings? :scratchhead: -

I've also got used to masks and TT. The main issues that irk me still are the needing to stick to groups of 5 - my brother's family, my parents and my family haven't been in the same place for more than a year! The 1m distancing has made it difficult to arrange workplace events (due to small conference room - at least the 1m spacing requirement will be removed soon).

But the main nuisance is the isolation and HRW rules - you never know when it will strike, sometimes you have no idea where you were infected or why you have been served a HRW! You may feel perfectly well but your plans have been disrupted. And some places are so strict that as long as a family member of yours has been served a HRW, they prefer you not to show up, which messes up all your plans. With 4 adults in the home, plans are constantly having to be changed, and the cost of all those ARTs is really quite a lot.
I've had it with being flexible and being ready to change plans at the drop of a hat!
