I've also got used to masks and TT. The main issues that irk me still are the needing to stick to groups of 5 - my brother's family, my parents and my family haven't been in the same place for more than a year! The 1m distancing has made it difficult to arrange workplace events (due to small conference room - at least the 1m spacing requirement will be removed soon).
We have received notification for booster for one gal and another gal going for 2nd dose soon.
I somehow could feel for the group who worries more..coz it is still something that we don't know what will happen in the future.
As for the current restrictions, are they very restrictive/very inconvenient? Except for big group gatherings or maybe others? to me I can just do whatever I want to do.. put on mask/TT ok coz already got used to it.
But the main nuisance is the isolation and HRW rules - you never know when it will strike, sometimes you have no idea where you were infected or why you have been served a HRW! You may feel perfectly well but your plans have been disrupted. And some places are so strict that as long as a family member of yours has been served a HRW, they prefer you not to show up, which messes up all your plans. With 4 adults in the home, plans are constantly having to be changed, and the cost of all those ARTs is really quite a lot.
I've had it with being flexible and being ready to change plans at the drop of a hat! -
Think those isolation period is getting shorter and I find the restrictions not as restricted anymore…be patient for a little more while ba.

Unfortunately, there are still people/organisations who prefer to \"play safe\" and tell you not to come, or forbid you from talking part in certain events/activities if you've had contact with a positive case. Some of these organisations seem to have drafted their guidelines 2 yrs ago and never changed them - they even say that if you have come into contact with someone with a HRW within the past 14 days, you should not show up! Of course, they are free to draw up the rules in whatever way they choose, but I feel they do it out of fear because they are constantly reminded that Covid is around, and they still regard it as some dreaded disease to be avoided at all costs. This was the case 2 yrs ago, but not now. So the faster the general rules are relaxed, the faster the unfounded fears will decrease.
When we are under same roof with C+ person, so long as we are Art-, we are free to go out.. to me lots of freedom le.
And with 4 adults in the family, if we start getting HRNs back to back, or overlapping HRNs... -

Actually these HRNs now are no longer a nuisance for close contacts. As long as I am tested negative before I go out for the day, I am ok to go out . So the rules have relaxed a lot. I do not feel the restriction but I restrict myself to the activities that are only really really essential and try to do activities where I do not come into contact with too many people. Also, my ART kits are free.

:yikes: where do you all usually go to get the HRNs?

If a colleague gets an official test done, and lists you as a close contact in the office; if you go out with friends, and someone lists you as a close contact; if you are at some other place for an extended period (unexplained, and don't even know who tested positive - this happened to one daughter); if you are in church and someone in your group/activity lists you as a close contact... and multiply this by 4 adults.
:yikes: where do you all usually go to get the HRNs?
And yes, while the govt rules change, not all organisations change as quickly. And it's no point arguing at the front desk, they just say they can't change the rules. And some colleagues and other friends are just uncomfortable because they still hark back to the rules a year ago. It makes no difference if the rules for isolation changed from 14 to 10 to 7 days because as long as they think \"quarantine\" they assumes it's 14 days. And some don't trust ARTs, so they just prefer you to stay away, whether or not you've tested negative. They may not tell you not to come, but you can tell they are uncomfortable in your presence and think you are very selfish to \"endanger\" others. -

Something to know about reinfections of Covid19.
Commentary: Just how concerned should we be about COVID-19 reinfections?
https://www.channelnewsasia.com/commentary/covid-19-reinfection-severe-mild-vaccine-omicron-2501776
Extract:
It’s reasonable therefore to assume that, in general, reinfections should be less severe than primary infections, as the person being reinfected will have some pre-existing immunity from their primary infection. Plus, many people will have been vaccinated between their infections, which will have further raised their levels of immunity.
And even though immunity against being infected and developing COVID-19 symptoms wanes, protection against severe disease and death appears much more durable. So, at the extreme end of things, reinfections definitely seem to be less severe.
However, whether your second infection ends up not feeling as bad as your first may depend on when you get infected. ONS data shows the proportion of people reporting symptoms with their reinfection varies depending on what variant they were likely infected with the second time round. -
This is really annoying....and what is the basis? This guy is a businessman....OMG!
