Yeah, I can see that the big malls actually benefitted from having the gantry, maybe that's why it's ok to implement it even if it is temporary.
Most big malls run by large organizations such as Far East considered the cost saving in manpower & bull bargaining to install such gantries. It’s more convenient for them to manage this way then hire extra bands to monitor crowds for safe entry. -
will we reach a state that there would be no different measures applied to the vaccinated and unvaccinated?
If yes, are these gantries still serve the intended purpose? -

*In 2015, at Ted Talk show, Bill Gates predicted a pandemic and said the world was ill prepared for it. He said that to reduce global warming, world population has to be reduced by family planning, abortion, euthanasia and by vaccination (which he didn't explain).
*In 2018, the mRNA vaccine technology research was successfully completed. Pfizer signed agreement with Biontech to produce vaccine for influenza.
*In 2019, Bill Gates appeared in science documentary show on cable TV to warn about pandemic.
*In 2019 October, BMG funded Event 201, together with John Hopkins to do paper simulation exercise for pandemic preparedness & response. Singapore being one of few countries invited.
*In 2019 November - December, Wuhan virus erupted.
*Now, 2022, Bill Gates is repeating the same 2015 pandemic prediction again.
The precision of the timeline is quite scary and sinister.

The faster we get a large no. with previous infection, the faster we'll get over this hump. There are still only 40+ in ICU, so as long as the hospitals are not overwhelmed, it's fine. Currently, the ones overwhelmed are at A&Es and outpatient clinics - because some people will insist on getting MCs (either because they or their bosses don't know it's not needed), or because they are used to seeing a Dr for every sniffle, cough or slight temperature.

Need how many weeks or months to get through the peak? Usually how many % of population in order to achieve the ‘herd immunity’? Severity on reinfection, if any will be lower I guess…But if comes another variant and the previous immunity not 100% useful, we need go through it again, maybe shorter as immunity/vacc/booster may still work to a certain degree? Looks like need time…

It was already falling a few days ago, and I think the current peak is caused by changes of policy (e.g. using QTCs etc) rather than actual changes in infection rates. Once the rate of increase is lower, I think the restrictions will ease a little more. I expect the authorities are wise enough to make the easing gradual rather than all at once.

As for new variants, hopefully they will also be mild, and since they are related viruses, the no. of seriously ill should be lower since so many have been vaccinated, boosted, and probably also have recovered from infection. Many of the current issues of people having to be isolated, HRN, VDS, pressure on clinics etc. is more because of fear and policy, not because the virus is inherently that dangerous to the population now. They only serve to slow the time for peak to arrive.
