      Hi 陈老师,

Thanks for the reply! Appreciate your advice a lot.

Are you referring to reading《早报逗号》, 《华文热门话题材料作文》and 《爱上读报》? Thanks!
Can I check for 早报逗号, which section is more relevant to read? Thanks!
      Yes, Reenie.

https://zshop.zaobao.sg/collections/childrens-books/products/iread-news-4 is 4. Each version is totally different (i.e. no repetition in news articles covered), however, the older versions contain less relevant news/statistics.

For 《早报逗号》, the following sections are more useful:
      - Topic 话题
      - NewsBites 快读新闻
      - NewsFeed 新闻消化室
      - NIE 说说看
      - Ink 文艺

Good news for Sec school students. Hopefully they can take advantage and maximize the use of 逗号. 😉

Officially announced today. They will have access to electronic version of《联合早报》. I think it's a really good initiative. The next step (and challenge) is to get them to use the resources. It's mentioned that there are plans to expand the coverage to Pri school students too (for Thumbs Up subscription, I guess). 😄

              Hi

Anyone can share where to download past year exam papers for Sec 2 Higher Chinese?
Or anyone can share recent years’ Compo ( 情境作文) questions and 电邮questions?

              Thanks!

Lower Sec 2 Higher Chinese, you hardly can find them on Internet to download from.

Even those push cart stall u see at shopping mall, some mall do sell Upper Sec 3 or O-level (Sec 4) HCL schools’ past year papers, but hardly any Lower Sec 2 HCL.

Just ask your Sec 2 (son or daughter) to approach the Chinese class Teacher or HOD in the school, get hold of the more recent past 3 years’ exam papers to photostat a copy.

                Note
If Sec 2 students approach class laoshi directly, laoshi will respond directly. But not, if parents approach class laoshi.

                Why ?

                Because

At that age, already 13 or 14 yo, students are supposed to be independent, to take ownership responsibility in their own learning, open their mouth to seek help directly from school Teachers. Not expect parents to still molly cuddle them, so big already in Secondary schools, still need their parents to approach their school Teachers for help.

                Alternately,
ask your teenager child aged 13 or 14 years old, to walk to the Secondary school’s library, see if library store past years’ exam papers there.

The easiest way is to get your teenager child to approach the Cca Seniors in the school, for a copy of past year exam paper. Eg. If your kid is Sec 2, can approach the Seniors in Sec 3 or Sec 4.

As mentioned earlier in the thread, one of the reasons why lower Sec CL/HCL papers aren’t available in the market is because the tested scope and component varies across schools.

Like @phtthp suggested, the best way of preparation is to get past year papers from the child’s school (the tested components are usually consistent - e.g. I noticed RGS WA format has been consistent over the years, as opposed to some other schs who still make tweaks year in year out).

Of cos, another alternative is to form a network and exchange papers (for practice purposes) amongst parents with children from different schools. Even though tested scope/component may vary, certain components like comprehension or paper 1 are still very much "universal".

Videos on such themes and with such duration are ideal for practicing 口头报告 component of HCL oral examination. Much more authentic, updated and economical as compared to getting those from oral assessment books 😉 :
