I lost smell sense now, will I get back my sense huh?
My husband didn't lose his sense of smell totally, and it only lasted about 2 days. Others have told me their loss of sense of smell lasted a few days to up to 2 weeks. I've not heard of anything longer among my immediate contacts.

Oh dear, MP. Please get well soon with enuf rest & care. I went thro so at least u’stand some of yr symptoms.

Ulcers usually arises fr too much late nights but in yr case covid. In my experience, covid causes all the heaty symptoms - ulcers, fever, sore throat, headaches, bodyaches, etc. At the same time, I got those runnynose & phlegm (loads of it).

My gff brought me packs of Lian Hua Qingwen Jiaonang coz hubby cldnt find them on the shelves then but I’ve nvr touched them. It’s not specific to covid but a normal flu capsule reducing fever. Reason why I’m averse coz I don’t know if it’s got components that’re harmful to my organs. It’s just me. Nothing scientifically supported.

What helped me was various symptoms relieving, off- pharmacy medication :-

          1. Sore Throat - Orasyl gargle
          2. Runnynose - NeilMed nose rinse
          3. Fever - Panadol (took for 2 days)
          4. Ulcers - Oralbase

It is the long covid that annoys me most coz after having close myself in my room for 7 days & not going out for 2 weeks, I feel annoyed for being forgetful, headaches and I believe my gut issues might be related lingering issues or that the bacteria affected gut acts as a pre-existing condition that turn my health topsy turvy.

          Get well MP 🙏🏻
          Drink more, rest more.
Esteema, thks for the list too , I got the betadine throat spray , horrible taste . My throat ulcers under control now, only a bit sore .
Nose not stuffy , just can’t smell much
Oh no u go see got Chinese herbs for your long symptoms, might be heat / toxins inside to get rid off. Take care too.

Ya! On gosh, Betadine is a no touch for me. I only like Orasyl as everytime I hv a sore throat or cough, it clears immediately & DH & I can sleep well, don’t hv that awlful, raspy feeling at the throat. I’ve abstained fr tea since Feb & this week started doing crysanthenum tea & blue pea tea with lemongrass fr my garden. I must admit I do feel ‘mentally fatigue’ not eager to do much. Helps that DH constantly gets me to do stuff & go places as we open up more fr covid restrictions.

I didn’t hv lose of smell or taste, so can’t share much.

Glad that I had recovered much fr yr throat ulcers. Mine occasionally will erupt one as they move into the mouth area. The most irritating is the one btwn my molars. Once I feel an ulcer coming on, I’ll wash with Orasyl again. Do get ulcer cream on standby.

I believe lots of toxins. I’m on probiotics for last 2 months. Seeing slight improvement of my gut alr, but still abit more time to let it recover. Next month will remove my gallbladder. The headache comes on & off. Last night had one episode & difficult to sleep. Helps that today is cooling & not hot like yday.

                Typo Error :

MP : Glad that you had recovered much fr yr throat ulcers.

My family just got it too
Dh returned fr Boston, was negative before flight, reach Thursday, sick Fri din suspect Covid coz negative pre flight mah , some more
Mild symptoms for him, stuffy nose, warm body, tired , he thought was a post marathon sick.
Sunday , I got higher fever , throat ulcers
                  Tested, both positive
Tues, Wed - kids positive , mild
Now dh ok Leow , negative
Me : I got high fever , a bit running nose, worst is the throat! I had Covid sore throat plus two ulcers - swollen throat ( ate a deep fried curry puff n nuggets last Fri n Sat before sick on sun. So I wonder is it bcoz I body heaty so my Covid symptoms so bad ! Fever , headache etc
This sore throat is bad , pain till can cry esp night n morning . Cough with green phlegm too
Day 5 for me now , so much better .
Drink herbal tea, use throat spray to put in medicine , eat the Chinese Lian hua medicine in between western medicine to expel body toxins.
So Covid is still around n alive !
Just a matter of time when one will catch

But with vaccinations n booster , should b ok, I din expect will catch it fr dh fr US imported !
Once if u feel sore n dry throat , avoid spicy n heaty food , to prevent throat to get worst !

Just curious , those who got Covid, do u get throat ulcers or just a sore throat?
Glad you are getting better, and hope you will recover soon.

Yeah, I had both. ulcer( kinda small red patch) was behind my soft palate between throat towards nose, the soreness and ichiness was lower part. The ulcer wasnt ichy but had a burning feel. Went away in 2-3 days.

If the swelling is bad, like painful, you can ask doc for an anti-inflammatory like Serrapeptase .

If your throat is hurting/iching badly constantly - take some honey such that it coats the throat, especially before sleeping.

Do take care of your throat -- at regular intervals gargle with orasyl, warm saline water, talk less ( and dont laugh or sing 🦆 ) Really dont strain your throat.

                  And rest.

I took it a bit light once recovered, fedup of bland food. I started having dry cough from day 8 or so that went on for the next 3-4 weeks before I fully recovered. So do take care.

On the bright side, once recovered, we have lower risk at least for the next few months, can go maskless 😉

The immunity for Omicron is only 90 days.

Upto 90 days is low risk , but will still have more immunity for Omnicron. Anyway, if there is an outbreak of another variant, no advantage at all.

That may not be true. It really depends on how different any new variant might be. But the fact that it's a variant and not a completely new virus does mean that there will be significant similarities, and there is likely to be some degree of resistance. The reason why there are many fewer seriously ill and deaths now is that the earlier vaccinations and infections have offered some immunity to serious illness even when infected by a newer variant. The immunity to infection has not been as good as hoped, but at least fewer are ending up in ICU.
