On the bright side, once recovered, we have lower risk at least for the next few months, can go maskless 😉
The immunity for Omicron is only 90 days.

Upto 90 days is low risk , but will still have more immunity for Omnicron. Anyway, if there is an outbreak of another variant, no advantage at all.

That may not be true. It really depends on how different any new variant might be. But the fact that it's a variant and not a completely new virus does mean that there will be significant similarities, and there is likely to be some degree of resistance. The reason why there are many fewer seriously ill and deaths now is that the earlier vaccinations and infections have offered some immunity to serious illness even when infected by a newer variant. The immunity to infection has not been as good as hoped, but at least fewer are ending up in ICU.

Are you getting better now? How is your throat sore and ulcers? Any improvement in your smell?

Glad you are getting better, and hope you will recover soon.

Yeah, I had both. ulcer( kinda small red patch) was behind my soft palate between throat towards nose, the soreness and ichiness was lower part. The ulcer wasnt ichy but had a burning feel. Went away in 2-3 days.

If the swelling is bad, like painful, you can ask doc for an anti-inflammatory like Serrapeptase .

If your throat is hurting/iching badly constantly - take some honey such that it coats the throat, especially before sleeping.

Do take care of your throat -- at regular intervals gargle with orasyl, warm saline water, talk less ( and dont laugh or sing 🦆 ) Really dont strain your throat.

              And rest.

I took it a bit light once recovered, fedup of bland food. I started having dry cough from day 8 or so that went on for the next 3-4 weeks before I fully recovered. So do take care.

Hi Sun, thanks.. for the sharing. I recovered most of it, just left abit light cough

The Children Left Behind by Long Covid

As the world pretends the pandemic is over, at least a half-million children in the U.S. are struggling with the mysterious disease.

Extract of 3 cases from the article.

                  Case 1:
Lincoln Brockmeyer folds his lanky 6-foot-4-inch frame onto the examination table as he explains to the pair of doctors that he feels tapped out, his energy totally sapped. Some days, he says, he needs a nap to make it through the afternoon. Worse than the bone-tired feeling he can’t seem to shake is the constant pain in his legs and the sensation that each one weighs a thousand pounds. He tells the doctors that he’s lost weight—at one point he was down 30 pounds, to 148. He can’t run without getting lightheaded, he says, and every time he stands up he gets deep purple spidery veins on his arms and legs. He loves playing basketball, but not when his body hurts like this............
                  ...............

                  Case 2:
Griffin recalls meeting with a 16-year-old girl who couldn’t sit up for more than a few minutes without throwing up, so her mother took her to a pediatric long-Covid clinic in Colorado. Griffin says the last time he talked with the girl, she could sit up for about 45 minutes without vomiting.

                  Case 3:
Hunter Reinard, who’s just turned 4, has been sick with long Covid for two of those years. He hides behind a blue chair in the exam room, while his mother, Kristin, explains that after the entire family came down with Covid early in the pandemic, he began suffering from high fevers every few weeks. He wasn’t eating well (he told his mom food smelled “disgusting”) and wasn’t sleeping. Over a course of months, Kristin had taken Hunter to a series of hospitals—including the Cleveland Clinic and, before the long-Covid clinic opened, Rainbow Babies. “Nobody knew what to do with him,” Kristin says to Edwards and Miller. “It was very frustrating because I was like, ‘I don’t know what to do at this point. Nobody’s believing me.’ ”

She tells the doctors that Hunter is beginning to gain weight thanks to the PediaSure shakes she’s been giving him. She and her husband also stopped finding Hunter downstairs at 4 in the morning playing with his toys, once they started giving him a melatonin supplement to help him sleep.

But the family all got Covid again in December. In February, Hunter’s on-and-off-again fever hit 106F. He began hallucinating, seeing characters from his favorite video games floating on the ceiling. Kristin says she’s been feeling overwhelmed.

How do we know if the vaccination period has expired for those haven’t taken the booster? I went to check in NIR…can see where /when we get the C vaccine…but if expired…where can we see it?. I could see the ‘active’ next to our ic number…I wonder if the active means Vaccination not expired or the person still alive.
