Once I saw her type an email to her teacher, she forgot to do her homework as she didnt see the email. She added lots of smiley faces and wished the teacher Happy Weekend.
Her Sec 2 grades were fine though. I read Parenting with Love and Logic which says it's good to let the kids deal with the consequences of their actions, without me fixing things if they go wrong. If something goes wrong, they can link it to their action and hopefully learn something. So who knows? Time to learn a little self discipline. -

There are other ways of making notes. My daughter makes use of \"sticky notes\" on her laptop, and I'm sure there are other digital ways on tablet, phone or laptop.
Maybe the teacher will be kind to be amused. But I can imagine other teachers may be less than amused.

We've tried with sticky notes! I love them myself. However our baby at home (he's 4) sticks them on his tongue and sticks his tongue out at us. And laughs and runs away. So we've had a blanket ban since I dont want to rush a choking baby to the hospital.

I meant digital \"sticky notes\", not paper ones. Ask her to give them a try? There should be a way to do that - my daughter was from RGS was using a Mac.

You should be proud instead. Your Sec 2 girl knows how to prioritise work and manage grades. I would leave her alone if in your case. There is no one path to success.

Oh yes, my dd uses the sticky notes on her Mac too. The girls don’t have handbooks like in primary school, so in Year1 it was “adaptation”time and she missed a few assignments. I recall I had to rush to Typo to buy a daily calendar +organiser for her then. After she got used to having everything online, she didn’t need the organiser anymore. Perhaps, give your child some time to adapt first…

Oof thanks. I didnt think of that. I nagged her to do her WAs and she burst out, \"Chill mom, you're giving me anxiety!\" and closed her door, probably to send out a hundred texts about her boring mom. I think I need to leave her alone to manage school and not listen to my inner anxiety voice. :lovesite:
