Based on past track records, those on NUS wait-list will most likely get offered as NUS sort out their wait-list candidates prudently to minimize the impact of disappointment for those in the queue list. So pray and keep your fingers crossed. Chances are there. Good luck!
Hi If my child is in the waitlist, do you have any idea how to improve the chance of securing a place at NUS medical school ? A & T -
Hi Desmond
Thanks for your reply with all the comforting & encouraging words.
I was advised in total there are 70 candidates in the WL. That leads me as a parent becomes very anxious over the final result. Just hope and pray hard all will turn out well. -

The stakes are much higher, though... -
Any idea how many candidate placed under NTU medicine WL? What are the chances of convert to offer?

Frankly speaking, in my entire life, I’ve never has this anxiety over children’s education, result release & postings etc at all but this time round, somehow, I’m very anxious over this. Maybe the competition is far too stiff ? Just pray hard …

It is not life and death, have a 平常心 peaceful mind, you are anxious also no use...the sky is not going to fall. If the outcome is successful, it is good, if not, then there are other better alternatives waiting for your kids, who knows? I think it is an experience where everyone will encounter in life, e.g. whether I can get into uni? whether this company will employ me? whether this girl will marry me? whether I can give birth? Or whether I could strike toto this time.
Since you kid has tried his best during this round, then let wait for the results and see how first.

As an estimation both schools have equal numbers of wait-list students. NTU uses BMAT besides academic, referrals and interviews in accessing their candidates. NUS selection seemed liberal and inclusive. No BMAT required, based on referrals, interviews and less on academic results. NUS quota is 300 Plus and NTU 150 plus. So those on NUS wait-list stands better chance as they have more slots. Come 2023 NTU will adopt similar system as NUS in my opinions as they moved away from UK standards of assessment

Those students who applied for NUS will also apply for NTU. Some will likely get offered from both schools or place on both wait-list.
Both schools are now waiting for the student's decisions of acceptance, reject and deferment from NS. Once the vacated slots available, they will start offering those in the waiting list based on their prioritize queue. These take place in the mid of May and end around mid July for both schools. So NUS has more vacated slots to offer as compared to NTU for their wait-list students. Both schools will notify those who are not offered after they exhausted their vacated slots before end of July. -
Hi Liew
That's true....
Thanks for your enlightenment

Hi Desmond, thanks for the kind words, but may I know where you read this from? NUS' waitlist moves quite slowly, because most people prefer NUS to NTU, right? And there are 70 applicants on the waitlist, which means about 25% of the 280 applicants who received an offer would have to reject their offer, right?

Also, the official batch size is 280, but the actual batch size each year is around 300. Does that mean that the batch size for each year changes? Any answer would be greatly appreciated!
