I read JC DSA intake vacancy will increase from 10% to 20%. Meaning less vacancies for JAE intake. Will it lower the COP ?

RJC science COP is 4. And I read some 4 pointers were ballot out from RJC. NYJC science COP of 5, would mean 5 pointers would undergo balloting too.

For above 2 reasons, 4 nett point would be safer for NYJC science?
      I agree with you.

      In recent years,
Nanyang JC Cut-off-point is getting lower & lower, meaning : much harder to get in. Yes, you are right. Safer to target 4 (nett) points, for Science stream (NYJC), because this year 2022 Sec 4 batch is very competitive, across thousands of 2006-born children ! Many Top students from other Secondary schools, are also eyeing Nanyang JC.

Also, if the Cut off is 5 points, risky. During computer balloting, if unlucky, can be balloted out at 5 (nett). Safer, to target 4 (nett).

Nanyang Junior College has come a long way. Many years ago, Cut-off-point (NYJC) was around 18 points. Today 2022, it is 5 points (nett). NYJC has improved a lot over, the years ! Besides offer flexible A-level subject combination, most important is behind the scene, they have a pool of very dedicated & caring Teachers.

DS in Sec 3 triple science. Did really badly for Physics - failed in both WA1 and WA2. Will the school ask him to drop Physics?
here is \"Physics Matters\", a very good recommended Textbook, by \"Marshall Cavendish\". This text is available, in both hardcopy & via electronic form (soft copy).

The front cover picture look like this :-

          https://www.amazon.sg/Physics-Matters-GCE-Level-4th/dp/B07CZV1WMY/ref=asc_df_B07CZV1WMY/?tag=sgsmrtphshopg-22&linkCode=df0&hvadid=404201474105&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=802463982926386091&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9062519&hvtargid=pla-850733601253&psc=1

          However,
your son need to make his own notes. Making own notes, will facilitate himself during exam preparation, as it help him in revision. As his Sec 3 Physics class Teacher teaches a new topic (chapter), do encourage him to make his own notes consistently and underline the key concepts, as he read (revise) from this text.

          Important -
also, ask him to note (jot) down into a notebook :-
those common Physics formulae often, frequently used / tested (come out) in exam (Term tests).

Hi all, may I know if there is any school bus/bus shuttle service for CCHM? Am currently living in Tampines and it would be nice to find one. If you know of any, kindly PM/reply me! All responses are appreciated, thanks in advance!!:)) :boogie:
            You can see that

as the Cut-off-point (L1R5) for admission into affliated Nanyang Junior College gets lower and lower each batch, from COP (previously 6) now dropped to 5 (nett, L1R5) for Science stream,

            more & more
Primary 6 PSLE students will target to enter CCHM, a much highly sought after school hot in demand today.

            Today, nett is 5.

            Going forward,
depending on to what extent or how competitive these O-level (2022 & 2023) batches are, those born in (2006 & 2007), it is possible that
Cut-off-point may go down even lower, from 5 to 4 (nett).

If you are a CCHM Sec 4 student from either of these two batches, means you can
            target
your original Raw score to be 8, or better, if so desire to come back to NYJC, under \"affliation\" status.

Based on the sharing & past experience of 2019 PSLE batch, can read that thread, piggies (born in 2007) are extremely, highly competitive !

My child is interested to take triple science + history/ss in Sec3. May I know if any parents have kids in this subject combi and can share any experience or insights? I prefer her to take 2 science subjects + 2 humanities but she has no interest in Geography or Lit and prefers science. Thanks
