If the rounds have started as at 26 May for NUS then it will continue to give up offer to wait-list candidates as and when there are vacated slots available. This process will continue till Mid of June and usually by this time all the vacated slots should have all been given out. For NTU it is the same too, and the wait-list offer will end in Mid June. Those not offered will also be notified by email.

May be you have been confused by the 1st acceptance window date and 2nd acceptance window date.

The windows for 2022 acceptance are:
1st window: 3 January to 24 May 2022 (for offers released before 24 May 2022)
2nd window: 1 to 17 June 2022 (for offers released between 25 May and 17 June 2022)

Applicants who receive offer(s) within the 1st window must indicate their acceptance online by 24 May 2022.
The 1st window date is meant for those being offered medicine in the first round of selection to do their acceptance.
The 2nd window date is for those wait-list candidates being offered medicine to do their acceptance.

So you see the date 17 June 2022, it tells you that all wait-list offering will end at this final date and it is final.

I have seen how my son has gone through the NTU wait-list process in 2019 verses NUS. It's a similar processes. The window dates were stated at university portal and also being passed down to all candidates via email as well.

Great info for current and future families whom may be on waitlist.

Btw, I am curious if NUS mentioned on the number/percentage of waitlisted students being offered?

Would waitlisted student who are not offer during their first application and the student reapply for the next year via ABAS, would such students get advantage or depends on merits among those applied under ABAS?

I have also met doctors here that studied 3 years in NUS or NTU and then 4 years in a aussie medical school.

So there are many ways to study medicine overseas.

For this point, I cannot disagree. Based on internet available information you have around 200 returning doctors who do housemanship in Singapore per year. That is around 25 percent!

I am not sure which uni they graduated from. Factors to get into those schools are slightly different as they don't look at RP. Nor exactly you get great BMAT or UCAT secure a place neither.

A great score in A Level, BMAT/UCAT is a start but not definite. The profile, empathy, etc, are factors in personal statement will be important towards being accepted for at least interview. The next part is doing well in the interview. What is considered a good interview? I don't know. For those been offered and accepted, you definitely must be able to afford it.

If you are equating liquidation vs overseas study, probably the cost is pretty close for the top few schools. UK Cambridge is around 60K pounds for 6 years,.Glasgow is 55K pounds for 5 yrs. Edinburgh, Manchester, Liverpool, If I recollect is cheaper. But you need to consider not taking the grant.

Experience wise, I think it will be different for studying locally and overseas for the child and parents. Assuming that the family can afford the child to study overseas with existing finances, studying locally with assumptions that the child graduate and don't break that bond, you can spend that money for great holidays and many other things (such as investing for future, such as own clinic, flat, marriage, CPF, etc)

End point is similar and that is to become a doctor. Path and journey will be different for many I believe.

My DD just received the mail notification for conditional admissions into the doctor of medicine degree from Duke-NUS medical school. She was previously rejected by NUS medicine, but now received this special invitation from them.

Can anyone help to advise what is this conditional admission about ? What is the difference between this degree and the normal degree offer by NUS ?
