Send back home for home leave will be cheaper?
She need to quarantine (not sure can at home or not) for 7 days. The cost should be not cheap, right?
Cost in Indo is definitely much cheaper. I’ve no idea cost of PCR.

Hi All. I need some advice here. I hired a helper primarily to look after my baby and for household chores/cooking. She is due for renewal but since my two children are in preschool already, do i still need a helper? Or part time helper will do? When the children are in school, i feel there is nothing much for the helper to do. Anyone here hire helper although children in school?

This is really a decision you can make on your own depending on yr family needs. Every family is different - some still requires the helper to clean house, iron uniforms & work clothes esp if employers are full-time working; some need them to focus on housework whilst they’re SAHP to focus on children engagements whilst the helper help around with errands & some need coz besides children they hv elderly. PT helper do not come cheaper either & u might hv to bear with frequent changes if they do not work out or hv better arrangements or they’ve last minute personal needs as u wld not be signing any contract with them.

Really not much for anyone to comment as we do not know yr details of yr family needs.

To add on to @Esteema's comments, the fact that you are asking this question signifies you feel having the helper beyond looking after your baby is really pointless, given that you can take over her roles somewhat. I would bite the bullet and do that, take back control of your life, rather than rely on a maid. Whilst part-time maids are expensive, you only need them occasionally, so it is not that bad. Get the kids involved with household chores; it builds a sense of belonging after a while 😄

Another thing to consider. Do you have a partner who is willing to bear the load equally. Sending and picking the kids, making sure meals are available, the day in day out chores that needs to be done, someone to look after the kids when they cannot attend childcare. PT cleaner can be there for the major cleaning but most of the other stuff still needs to be handled. Laundry, picking up after the kids, dishes after each meal, clearing out the bins, etc, etc.

Since your children are in preschool, I don't think they can involve with household chores at this stage. I think there are some facts you have to consider on hiring of a full time maid,
                  1. Could you financially support to hire a full time maid?
                  2. Do you have a big house and how often you have to cook at home - that is how much cleaning works you have to do?
                  3. Whether your DH is willing to share the workload in the family
                  4. How much freedom you want to have? With a full time maid at home, you may go out to have gathering with relatives or friend more frequently.

                    Hi all,

A lump sum of my kid’s angpow money was discovered to be missing and we have since made a police report on 23rd May 2022. My case is now with Tanglin Division HQ

There are 3 main suspects here, my helper, my neighbor’s helper and a Malaysian subcontractor who came to fix some lighting fixtures.

Till date, there has been no action from the police, no interview was scheduled for the suspects despite us calling the police investigator on a daily basis. Reason given was there are many cases and insufficient resources.

Earlier, my helper and neighbor’s helper were both in great distress after they learnt that a police report had been made. Neighbor’s helper cried for days initially but dragged until today, both of them seems to have gotten over the event and are back to normal.

May I know, from you who have similar experiences, usually how long would the police take before summoning the suspects to give their statement?
Can I expect to wait for another 3 or 6 months ?

                        About $500.

DH said maybe the amount is too small so police is not keen to investigate. Since we lodged a report at the police station, I think should at least take statements from the helpers.
