I wonder abt yr neighbor’s helper.
Thank goodness! I received a call today that the officer in charge of my case has been changed to another IO and this new IO is more proactive and has scheduled a date for me and my neighbor to bring our helpers down to take their statements. The police is also coming down to take photographs of the scene these few days.
Thank you Esteema for your earlier sharing. No, I do not have the serial number of the notes. DH also thinks that the police is unlikely to come to a conclusion about who stole the money.
Although my neighbor’s helper cried, her reason was that she was worried police would come to arrest my helper.

If I have evidence, then I don’t need the help of the police, right? I mean if I can produce CCTV footages of who stole the money, I would have solved the crime? That’s what I told my hubby too.
To me, police are trained in interrogation techniques. They know psychology. They can use lie detectors etc. Ask the helpers a series of questions and see their expressions, more or less can tell which helper is lying?
If police cannot even tell which helper is a liar, how do we expect SPF to solve major crimes?
But my DH is not hopeful, it will be a 无头公案 -

If really someone near you..making a police report may help to deter them doing it again, I feel. -

Sorry to heard about your predicament lee_yl… I hope the police will apprehend the culprit soon, and that you will have better sleep then. Will pray for you and your family.
… Meantime, do let the police know that you would like them to take the statements and investigate the people that you suspect. At times, we make a police report to make insurance claims etc and wouldn’t need any assistance from the police. So do tell them in a straight forward manner what you would like them to do. Specify clearly why you think they are “suspects” and if they have displayed any motives to steal.

Is possible that both (your maid + neighbour's helper) are in cahoot together.
Going forward,
can consider buy a safe to keep (valuables, jewellery, $ ) & install a CCTV inside this room, to capture evidence (opening safe).
When is your maid's contract ending ? Since trust has been broken & she is a suspect, let her go quickly if contract ending soon.
Is your house a 3-storey bungalow ? If u let go this full-time maid, can u manage household chores, with help from a part-time maid ? -

Why don’t you do away with the maid and get part time helper instead?
