Hi just curious about point 3.

Are your respective SAP alma maters still around? If yes, why not enrol her there under alumni priority phase 2A?[/quote]
She mentioned Maris Stella in the original post; I assumed that was her husband's school and doesn't work for the girl child. Also curious about her school since she was also from SAP school. Maybe it is Nanyang but she had qualifications there too (hard to pass at 2A though).

Have stated River Valley because it’s within 1km of my parents’ place. Is it a good school? And how it is a good school? Look forward to your replies. Thank you!
If you use your parents' address, you will be placed at 1-2km, not 1km. It's a rule. And RVPS has balloted at <1km for 2 out of the last 4 years in Phase 2C. You may not even get a chance to ballot :xedfingers:

She say SAP. She didn’t say primary or secondary. Most of the SAP secondary schools don’t offer Phase 2A priority.

Since she’s living overseas now, she can always “move in” with the parents and use her parents address as her local address

AGn's husband from Maris Stella primary last time, but Maris (All-boys school) is out, not applicable for AGn's daughter.

              As for AGn herself,
if she had graduated from a SAP Secondary school donkey years ago, many are not affliated to their respective SAP primary schools.

              Example

These SAP Secondary schools are Not affliated to their respective primary schools. Some don't even have a primary school :-

              1) Anglican High
(no primary school of the same school name, exists)

              2) Chung Cheng High (Main)
(no primary school of the same school name, exists)

              3) Dunman High
(no primary school of the same school name, exists)

              4) River Valley High (IP), is not affliated to River Valley primary.

              5) Nan Hua High, is Not affliated to Nan Hua primary.

              6) Nan Chiau High, is not affliated to Nan Chiau primary.

Nan Chiau High, a Secondary (SAP) school, only offer Chinese as their Mother tongue.

              But, in contrast,
Nan Chiau Primary school's Mother tongue can be a choice of (Malay, Tamil or Chinese).

              7) Nanyang Girls High,
is not an automatic affliation to girls from Nanyang primary (NYPS).

There is a Cut-off-point condition to fulfill, that

P6 girls (NYPS) who scored minimum Tscore 250, then can go back to their affliated NYGH. Otherwise, no, got to enrol into some other Secondary schools instead.

              Besides,
if AGn had studied in NYGH (Secondary) before, but if she herself had never studied at NYPS before, then also cannot enrol her daughter into NYPS.

Even for those who had studied in NYPS before, for SCs living more than 2 km (Phase 2A) nowadays, need to ballot. Only those lucky ones (> 2 km) can go in.

              😎 St Nick.

No automatic affliation, only pupils with minimum Tscore 230 can go back to O-level. Even if gotten 229, just missed by one point, still cannot come back, got to register in some other Secondary schools instead.

As St Nick is a \"Full\" school,
even if students studied only in the Secondary school before, but never in St Nick primary at all, their kids still can qualify for \"Phase 2A\" status. But those SCs staying more than 2 km, need to ballot.

If you use your parent's house address to register, u fall under the \"1 to 2 km\" category, even though your parent's house address is physically located less than 1 km, from RV primary.

Balloting took place for SCs living less than 2 km :-

Hi. Just wanted an opinion. If we are in the current phase 2A . What are our chances of getting in if we live more than 2 km away ?

Depends on which school it is.

Hi everyone. Both me and my spouse are in a dilemma. I am an alumni member of Henry Park Primary, so my child qualifies for phase 2A. I have also done Parent Volunteer in the school next to my house and completed the 40 hours. So my child also qualifies for phase 2B. Really unsure which to chose. Moreover we stay in Sengkang and Henry Park is in Holland Grove road. What are our chances of getting in if we live more than 2 km away for the current phase 2A? Should forgo Phase 2A and stick to Phase 2B? Confused!! Hope to get some opinions. Thanks!!

There isnt that much of a dilemma (unless u really dont wish your child to travel that far).

Phase 2A comes first. Just put in your application & you will find out in due course whether u get the place (ballot or otherwise, nothing much u can do about it).

If u dont get the place, then go for phase 2B at your <1km school. You also have phase 2C <1km.

I think u just need to decide between how much u love the 2B school & how much u think your child will hate the early travel time.
