I think you are much younger zac's mom..
Yes 25+19 but also becos I do not believe that old age will necessarily bring aches & pains & health issues. Why not believe that one can live to a ripe old age and still be healthy & happy?

My teenage daughter says nobody uses ASL these days. Oh she just learned to use the sign language though. That explains why it means American Sign Language when I asked.

I agree about the healthy and happy part, but I think 'healthy' will mean different things at different ages. There comes a point when the joints start stiffening, digestion isn't as cast-iron, energy levels decline, etc. While we can try to maintain ourselves as best as we can, the human body really wasn't designed to last indefinitely, and wear and tear is unavoidable, even if we can avoid the worst illnesses. But despite all that, we can still be happy to make the most of the health and strength left to us at any point in time.

Yes, I agree. Most (or all?) of the mum here are happy.

Health wise I always think I m ok as rarely fall sick type…but when my plantar issue came…I was quite surprised actually asI consider myself taking care of my feet quite alot. After mid 30s I don’t wear high heel to run. I pay quite alot of attention on comfort and protection of the feet. So really not sure why have it and looking back earlier than my mom when she first got it.

Well the only thing I can think of was I used to walk alot like 3km alternate day…but many ppl walk and walk more than me right…

                    Nobody uses ASL these days...
ASL is from the early days of the internet when:
                    1. memory is expensive and transmission speed is slow... hence, no profile picture to show who's who
                    2. location is represented by a series of IP address instead of geolocation (watch Stranger Things season 4 when Suzie searches for the IP address which led to the geolocation)

Thus, ChiefKiasu comment: if you understand what it means, you are really showing your age 😂
If you understand ASL, acronyms like BBS, IRC, ICQ etc would have some meaning as well 😆

Wah... you really know the history of the Internet! I started using email in 1986 or 87 in ang moh land, worked in the same lab in NCSA a year before Marc Andreessen created the world's first browser Mosaic and he moved on to create Netscape. Guess I was born a year too early otherwise I might have joined him and his team 🙂 For all I know he might have filled the spot in NCSA that I vacated 😂 Too bad I had to complete my NS so my first sight of the Internet browser was when I started work in 1992... dunno what it was :scratchhead: so I worked on something else. Sigh.

Yeah, during those days, the Internet really crawls because we had to use modems to connect to the Internet. So we would connect to bulletin boards, and type ASL this and ASL that when someone comes online. So different from nowadays where everyone think of Netflix and movies when you say \"internet\".

@floppy ah... do you miss the news.* groups? I do.

                        I'm 25.

                        ASL pls?
:rotflmao: no wonder you are \"floppy (disk)\"!

TBH, I have no idea what ASL is also, though I started playing MS-DOS games after my PSLE! I had an IBM computer at home and joined Computer Club in Sec 1. We learnt DOS commands and Lotus 123 to draw circles and all kinds of geometric shapes. You must remember Alley Cat, Tapper, J-bird MS-DOS games?

I recall typing out my holiday assignments already in Sec 4 and JC using my dot matrix printer.
And somehow I was able to email the overseas universities and hotels to make booking, around the time when Singaporeans were able to apply for a PACIFIC NET account! My first email was [email protected] I think?? And instead of Goodle Chrome, we had NETSCAPE. Later there was IE and Firefox and so on...

Remember this familiar dialing sound to access the Internet?
