Yes, tcm advice so as apparently eating these food will grow “pus”.. I’m not sure if it’s true but that’s was what I was told. There’s fish essence, it doesn’t taste as good as the chicken and is a lil fishy. As long as it works.
Any recipes for post surgery tonic soup? I was told by tcm avoid chicken eggs and peanuts post surgery but then why chicken essence is ok. -
Chicken eggs I don’t know…but chicken after surgery is ok to me. After Caesarean, I consumed chicken everyday for almost 2 mths. No issue with wound recovery.

Not easy to replicate what I tasted in the Peranakan restaurant we visited & I can’t find the recipe. I’ve replicated it 1st time but I overlooked the lime & used half a lemon. I’m quite hard on myself I guess. Doesn’t taste the same. I thot my garden still hv lime growing on it but we used faster than they grow. I must propagate ano pot.
Kampong chicken ban just lifted fm Msia? Woah rose apple salad ..I need to google later..
My family find it too spicy coz I took the wrong chilli. As my chilli turns red on my plant, I just harvest & forgot to check the variety I picked fr the lot I kept in the fridge. Will make again tmr & surely get the lime & be light on cutting the chilli (the right one).
It’s nice with light brown sugar & vinegar. Overall, hubby says appetizing. Comforting hor. -

Chillies, if your family members like the pickled type can make it into pickled chillies. -

Thank you for your concern. Taking morning leave today and managed to have 6 hours sleep. Feeling much better and on the way to office now.

I’ve learnt to eat healthily after a health scare in my early 30s. Then, I started learning to cook for myself as I’m averse to MSG & prefers to use fresh ingredients using olive or grape seed oil, after my mum passed on. I hardly cook red meat at home but don’t restrict myself when eating out. In a sense, I give myself some ‘treats’ when eating out.
I’ve seen how MIL suffers fr gout & BIL is only now getting his gout, after years of enjoying rich food as SIL can’t really cook & he’s always enjoying hoping fr one gourmet meal to ano & used to rave abt it. Now, with 3 kids & expenses going up, SIL started to learn to cook more at home & assisted by my elder niece. I’ve always encouraged that & last Christmas bought her an apron set & baking accessories.
Do take care, as we age, too much meat or rich food will clog our system & accumulatively affect our health. -

Not perfect yet. My 1st try. It’s good not to be too perfect & I’m learning not to be too hard on myself. Que Sera Sera.

Yes, that’s a brilliant idea to pickle the chilli. Most time, we use our chilli harvest to process Sambal chilli. My family loves it & we’ll make MIL’s share.
