I dont remember the usual timeline, but in 2022 Phase 1 ends 4.30pm on 30 June 2022, so I guess they will update the remaining vacancies after that date.
Hmm... seems like MOE is late in posting the total number of places it is putting out this year (2022), as it always do every year. Or maybe I'm too early?

Oh no... i wasn't talking about \"during\" the registration. I was talking about them releasing the total number of vacancies assigned to all primary schools, which is usually revealed BEFORE phase 1 even starts. Like last year, there was 41,888 vacancies in total. Oh well.

Oic. I’m guessing it will be around the same.

If I didnt calculate wrongly, last year was SG50 babies’ registration? So this year SG51 babies’ registration?
Next year onwards then expect total vacancies to be cut cos drop in #births plus Covid lull etc. -

This year, Phase 1 results will be announced on 5 July. My guess is that MOE will provide the details in the first week of July only.

Goodness. Don't they always state the total number of places available before they start Phase 1? This is getting strange.

Actually they did (I was wrong). Based on their https://www.moe.gov.sg/news/press-releases/20220519-2022-primary-one-registration-exercise-to-start-from-29-june-2022 on 19 May 2022, the list of primary schools and vacancies available will be updated by mid-June 2022.

It’s not that different from last year, where the https://www.moe.gov.sg/news/press-releases/20210520-2021-primary-one-registration-exercise-to-start-from-30-june-2021 went out on 20 May 2021, and details updated by mid-June also. -
Should be released soon. I can sense it.
Good to see you back Chief. -

Right after I posted earlier. :yikes: -
This number is before the Phase 1 seats are taken up, right?
IMO those primary schools with less than 200 should just be merged for better delegation of resources. Don’t secondary schools have much larger cohort sizes? Those kids from tiny primary schools going to Sec 1 would get a huge shock. -

I believe you are correct on the number (before Phase 1).

I think part of the challenge is the capacity has to be available by planning area/region? Otherwise, the 2C rejects may need to go very very far for 2CS choice or mandatory posting, and then more complaints. Ie unfortunately cannot just combine and round off at 200 plus.
Both my kiddos school < 200 enrollled 😀
