Thank you...taken too much meat and prawn...too full and cannot sleep... 🤷[/quote]
Careful taking too much rich food & too late into the night.

I’ve learnt to eat healthily after a health scare in my early 30s. Then, I started learning to cook for myself as I’m averse to MSG & prefers to use fresh ingredients using olive or grape seed oil, after my mum passed on. I hardly cook red meat at home but don’t restrict myself when eating out. In a sense, I give myself some ‘treats’ when eating out.

I’ve seen how MIL suffers fr gout & BIL is only now getting his gout, after years of enjoying rich food as SIL can’t really cook & he’s always enjoying hoping fr one gourmet meal to ano & used to rave abt it. Now, with 3 kids & expenses going up, SIL started to learn to cook more at home & assisted by my elder niece. I’ve always encouraged that & last Christmas bought her an apron set & baking accessories.

Do take care, as we age, too much meat or rich food will clog our system & accumulatively affect our health.

You sure have standard to replicate to the similar taste. Mine getting very surface. Yesterday I saw my braised meat gravy not thickening and dark enough as in the first few times..I told myself never mind la..

Chillies, if your family members like the pickled type can make it into pickled chillies.
Not perfect yet. My 1st try. It’s good not to be too perfect & I’m learning not to be too hard on myself. Que Sera Sera.

Yes, that’s a brilliant idea to pickle the chilli. Most time, we use our chilli harvest to process Sambal chilli. My family loves it & we’ll make MIL’s share.

I love chillies too, esp chilli padi. Are they easy to plant and grow?

Chilli padi is very easy to plant. They flower very quickly too. If you can't wait a couple of months, then you can get some grown plants from Thomson and have fun! But the plants will also die in about a year's time.

Thank you for your care and advice. I recall a phase in the Bible \"For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.\", the problem is my friends always \"over order\" food during a buffet and because I don't waste food, so all of these excess will be ended up in my stomach. However, when I ask them not to order too much food even it is a buffet, they will say they want to try these food and can finish them.

Nowadays, youngsters likes to waste food - don't want to eat... don't eat lah....but for me and DH and DS, we all don't waste food.

Yes, the spirit is always willing, but the flesh is always weak but we still hv to try esp if we know & u’stand what is right to do & hv the ability to weigh the consequences.

I don’t know the logic of your thinking. Do u mean you don’t waste food but can waste yr health? Which is more impt?

Come to think of it, as you’re the more senior amongst the youngsters, u shld be able to set the example of prioritizing yr health & ingest only sufficiently & eat what u chooses. I can u’stand the enthusiasm of young ppl, as I’ve been there - everything new can be exciting for attempting. But at my age, I’ll choose to avoid health scare & bldg health problems esp with so much public Edn abt health. Nothing is more impt tgen health. The youngsters will hv to face the consequences of over ordering food & be learn to be held responsible for it.

Hi all the gardeners, hope you can help me.

I have about 3m of deep planters, would like some tall to medium height plants that are easy to care for and wont need direct sunlight.

I like orchids for indoor plants in the dining room. There are windows. Do u need to re-pot orchids and how often?
