It is nothing wrong, mothers also need to take a break and we should have our own time.
thank goodness I'm normal :rotflmao:
with the kid or kids at home, I just have no peace.
if I am alone at home and feeling hungry, I just search the cupboard or fridge to heat up.
with these 2 at home especially my daughter, she is fussy. -
I like kids to be at home…everything much easier.

As they get older, they should learn to get around by public transport. Then you won't need to send and fetch as much. Unless you are like some parents I see who won't let your kids grow up and insist that they must be sent and fetched up till JC (or older!). Some kids will still be able to learn to be independent despite that kind of treatment, but some will be \"stunted\" in their growth.

Yea I know it is not very good…they always find coming home on their own is always an interesting thing to do…esp approaching school holiday after exam…asked for several times already. I told them I will fetch them while I can still do it. On times that I couldn’t make it then I will let dd1 take public transport. The younger one not that independent in a way so she has not tried coming home on her own yet.

Regarding the part in light blue…when you are reading your book alone, does your extrovert child not come and want to talk to you? I have tried so many times to explain that I need my introvert time. Yet DS “needs” to come and talk to me about whatever he’s reading/watching. Then when I plead for some peace and quiet, he will point out that human interactions are his way of recharging so would I please let him tell me about it :frustrated:
I'm quite happy to have the kids out of the house, more for their sake than mine, because I think it's good for young people to learn and experience more outside. I don't find that having kids in the house affects my \"me time\" - I just do what I want to do, whether or not they are at home. I don't (and didn't, once they were in their late-teens) go out of my way to feed them or cater to them. I do cook lunch sometimes, but if I want something simple myself and they don't want the same, they are free to cook or go out.
The only time I can truly read in peace is while he’s in school (so glad June hols are over!) And from Sec 1 onwards, that will be longer hours so yay. -
Oops sorry for the terrible choice of colour!

I have 1 dd that need us to listen to what she has read. I will still continue do my things…I cannot catch majority of what she is saying. One thing is she is alright/thought I m listening. I ever asked her once and she told me she could remember better this way. For us, since I can dont pay attention just let her be.

Your description reminds me of DS younger times at home with me. S'times, I can’t even do my cook, cakes or floral arrangements w/o his interruptions despite a glass panel at kitchen where he can see my presence fr the living room. Hence, I’ll try to involve him in some of my prep processes. Even now, fr time to time, I’ll involve him in my gardening process if it’s sth to learn or harvest for family meals. When I had to concentrate in assembling my creations, I’ll arrange for DH or MIL to engage him.

Still rmbr I did hv lots of ME TIME where DH wld bring kids out for ice cream or tea at Starbucks so I can get my facial or massage done. Thankful that DH & I started our parenting with the co-parenting mindset which we adopted fr our well respected pastoral pre-marriage course.
So, maybe can get sth he can engage if he has interest or assign him sth as impt tasks to be delivered to grandma/grandpa, cousin’s bday etc so he can concentrate w/o being clingy.
