Depends. Laziness implies seeking an end-goal that is quick and efficient. Hardworking means doggedly beating yourself against a wall until it caves.

But in case of doubt, my quip is merely said in jest, and not meant to stimulate any sort of debate! 😂
      Beware.

In a DSA interview, some interviewers don't like joke, can mark u down.

If one joke for an older age group, eg. during 18 year old (NUS / NTU) interview for university entrance faculty, if the interviewer able to see the joke, fine, since 18 yo are young adults, no longer 12 year old children.

But at P6 interview session, 12 year old, if joke, ... ensure that the interviewer(s) are able to see your joke.

Here are some info for next year (SOTA DSA2023) parents

Day 2 audition and interviews (for 2nd artform) (23Jun2022). Kid say it was fun, but very solemn compared to Day 1 (Theater).

LITERARY ARTS shortlist interviews questions (23Jun2022) -
          2 interviewers, 1 interviewee
          Qs in no particular order
          - What is your best experience related to LA
          - What are the 3 things you want to improve on in SOTA
          - What are the 3 things you want to learn in SOTA
          - You have chosen 2 artforms, which do you prefer

Kid also report a girl was asked
          - If you were a tree, what tree would you be ....
          Riding on fy2000jp2's sharing,

Heard from one of my students, who went for Music (Performing) or Music (Creating), that one of the questions asked was \"which fictional character best represents you\".

FYI - supporting documents for Hwa Chong shortlisting (English Category)

            - HCI DSA e-mail shunted into SPAM folder ! (unlike MOE-DSA e-mail)
            - Need graded P6 h/w as supporting docs. Supporting docs requirements are made known AFTER start of June holidays === > Get docs BEFORE June holidays while teachers are still avail/in-country.
            - Can use graded P5 h/w as supporting docs ===> Do NOT dispose of P5 h/w as child moves on to P6.

I’m so sorry that my little joke got confused and people were upset. Posts have been removed and it’s back to regular DSA 2023 programming…

This morning at the RI DSA2022 academic selection exercise. Observation may be useful for future aspirants, indicative number of how many candidates for each academic subject (which may or may not be proportional to avail CO slots).

Number of Registration Counters open for:
                  - English =1
                  - Malay = 1
                  - Math = 5
                  - Science = 2

                  Observations at dismissal
                  - candidates doing NUSHS test (later in afternoon?) are released first
                  - canteen (below exam hall) is reserved waiting-area for Math and Science candidates pick-up after dismissal (cater to parents overflow)

Some info from the kid on the RI 2022 Academic-ENGLISH selection test format. Your mileage for DSA 2023+ might vary.

                    - 1.5hrs
                    - 1 Situational Writing exercise (similar to PSLE-style Q)
                    - 3 Comprehension exercises (2 similar to PSLE-style Q, 1 non-standard Q)

Kid says the comprehension exercises was challenging.
Kid also reports candidate seated behind him, a GEP student, moaned about the third comprehension passage.

Wished I had the test format info before selection test.
