For this reason, I always (or at least previously) thought they would be out. But it seems like not, and as mentioned before I think kids of all ages have been impacted and there is no good time to get everyone back on track.
Yes, 2 full years of disrupted learning.. the crucial P4 Subject based banding and P5, where the bulk of the topics were taught (chop chop-ly). So I feel SEAB shd take this as a consideration as well. Their learning and preparation is not just in P6. Their foundation could have already been affected by P4 and P5 years.
In the end, it doesn't matter much, as a) topics are a small portion of the exams and b) posting is still a relative outcome.

haha very true......all dare not commit an answer
Their standard answer will be “Need to wait for SEAB to announce.” I guess they can’t release any info until its official.
but i feel this yr is FULL PAPER .......unless sudden monkey pox spread :siam: -
I have been looking for model compo of pass year PSLE Chinese paper and did not find any, until recently I asked in KSP PSLE Chinese thread and a friendly P6 parent told me there is one available in Popular by EduVision (cover page purple in color). I got one copy for my DD. DD’s Chinese tutor said it is very good, better than the usual compo books you usually get from Popular. Got all 4 types of compo for both Normal Chinese and Higher Chinese. all the compos are well written and 很有针对性。You can hardly get so many model compos of past year questions in one book I guess. Thought just share with parents who are also looking for good model compos.

Agree, it will most likely be the full paper. For practice, the language papers are okay to use all the years. Only for math and sci, there were topics excluded for last 2 years.

Not sure what happened .. thought I sent it out but turns out nothing. OK anyway I was looking for model compo of past year PSLE Chinese questions and did not find any, until recently I asked in KSP PSLE Chinese thread and a friendly fellow KSP told me there is one book now in Popular by EduVision (cover page purple in color). It turns out a very good book. My DD's Chinese tutor said all pieces are well written and 很有针对性! Much better than the normal compo books you usually get from bookstores. Got all 4 types of compo for both Normal Chinese and Higher Chinese. You hardly get a book with so many model compos all from past year papers! Just sharing in case you are also looking for good Chinese model compos, as I got this piece of useful info from KSP too. Cheers :rahrah:

I wish they have also written one each, for O level (pu-hua and gao-hua) zuowen, Chinese composition too. -
Hi parents, with the prelims coming up soon, I’d like to perhaps steel myself mentally for any tough papers/big drop in results.
During the mid-year PTM, DS’ form teacher said that schools “no longer” set killer prelim papers.
Can I check how true this is? Did your kids’ teachers say likewise? Did the more recent (for example) 2020 and 2021 prelims seems easier compared to previous years? I have not gotten round to looking at/analyzing various schools’ prelim papers yet. -

My DS’s form teacher said, now with Covid, they try not to set too hard papers and try to align to PSLE standard, knowing that if anything happens, they will fall back on the Prelim results. That’s for his school, which is a neighborhood school.

This makes sense. But I also wonder how the schools would treat students who catch COVID during the PSLE. With the current relaxation of measures, would they cater for a specialized quarantine area within the school or have the students take the exam at the NCID instead? It would seem impractical to continue to have to rely on prelims when the government has removed/relaxed their approach elsewhere.
