I remember hearing about those days. Parents had to apply to schools individually, pay application fee and submit supporting documents each time. Some people applied to 7, 8 schools even. Was definitely a logistical nightmare and more stressful. There was a test too? General ability test? Thankfully, it's more streamlined now.
Be glad you didn't have a kid four years earlier. I think before 2019 that was the process
I do agree about notification milestones. Next time CCS does his walkabout, I want to offer him some suggestions. Since there's a portal in use already - schools should make use of that to give auto rejection notifications too. Rather than say, if you don't hear from us, take it as you've been rejected. -
Hi, may I ask does the individual schools know what other schools the child has placed her/his dsa school choices?

Based on the notification it said 7:30-11:30am, yes, the time clashes with NUSH camp
Congrats! Just curious, what time period does it cover? NUSH Camp is that day too (16 July).

I am curious about this too.

If they do, then will they ask which other schools did you apply for? -
NUShigh round 1 results will be on July 14
May I know how will be the Selection camp in NUShigh?
what kind of questions will be asked? -

They can ask u these qns, during the process interview itself.
Hi, may I ask
does the individual schools know what other schools the child has placed her/his dsa school choices?
Be mentally prepared,
especially
if is those \"one to one\" interview kind.
Even in a \" group \" interview setting, with about 4 students, per group, they can also ask u same qns, going round each student inside the group patiently, one by one. That means, everybody will hear one another answers. And as each candidate talk, amongst them, one of the interviewers will observe quietly & jot down what & how the candidates have replied (answered), while the other interviewer keep asking qns. The scenario is like (equivalent to) attending PSLE Chinese Oral session. One invigilator is a keen listener
(quiet observer ) while the other keep asking candidates Oral questions.
During the \"interview\" itself, some interviewers can ask you directly, towards the end of the interview :-
1) so, can tell us, besides our school, which other DSA schools, did u also concurrently apply for,
And
for which domain ?
Just tell them the truth.
Cannot tell lie,
because
they can easily verify the info, if need be. After all, All Secondary schools are inter- connected, via Moe centralised database system. At the mere click of a keyboard button, all assesible info can be readily retrieved out (extracted out), and verified upon.
If u think your P6 child going to fumble when asked such questions during the interview, then safer to rehearse at home your own model answer(s) a few times first, before attending the actual interview.
2) if these other DSA schools were to offer CO, besides our school also offer u CO, what is your \" preferred \" choice, and why ?
Example
say, u have applied for (RI + Hwa Chong + NUS High), which quite a number of students did. Then, must prepare your own model answer script first, for this.
3) Do you have any questions, for us ?

In \"group\" interview setting, usually they put 4 students, from different primary schools together in one group. Unlikely that, they put students from the same primary school together, in the same group
