😂 PSLE is just an exam...even fail like my son before also no need to die and can still graduate from university later. The drawing of skull is so cute.

I think she was talking about your son's mental well-being, not yours 😛

But I am fully supportive of ensuring that parents are also rested and learn to chill. If not, we'll just unload our anxiety on our kids who, on their own, are under enough pressure as it is.

As a young boy, I failed Math in P6 - term 1 and term 2. Did a bit of revision and ended up with A*. Repeat the same with my A Math in S4 prelims (F9, less than 20 out of 198 😆 ).

Moral of the story... 39 days? There's plenty of time left to change the narrative.

Moral of the story... if you are not going to study consistently, you better have big brains like @floppy :nunchuk:

@floppy, I know some very bright people like you. I've told the story of how my friend who has been failing in her subjects borrowed my notes and ended up ace-ing the A-Levels only after studying for a couple of months. Unfortunately, intelligence is on a spectrum and not everyone would be able to do the same, and the only solution is - consistency.

I'm not bright. Some people collect stamps, some people collect bags... I just like to collect A to F in my report book :rotflmao:

For A Levels, my first year was very interesting. My first year JC notes / tutorials are > 80% photocopied from my classmates (for which I'm eternally grateful). Manage to get through to the second year without much hiccups (but wasn't particularly great, results wise, either). I have to redo / recopy them in my second year to bring myself up to speed for the exams. It was doable because I'm fortunate enough to have an easy combo of Physics, double Math, having dropped Economics after the first year.

Note: Females definitely have better handwriting and neater than males. Females also seem to use highlighters liberally. I would probably prefer a scanner these days as OCR technology would definitely make life a lot easier compared, not to mention a lot more environmentally friendly and portable.

I doubt it's a strategy that's possible these days and given the ridiculous IGP for some of the local university courses, I think consistency is probably the only answer.

So many of my friends and their kids at home, caught this recent wave of covid. At first, one family member fell sick first, fever at 38 degree celsius. Then, later, spread to another family member, then another...

                    What's the figure, now ?
Last week was 9000+, then climbed up to 11000+ ?
Yes, so far I have heard from close sources that HBL zoom lessons (after the June holidays) are back for those pupils who have COVID and with a number of pupils absent from class, the whole class will have zoom lessons. Not sure if this is MOE-initiated or individual school-initiated. It’s best to get COVID now as there is at least 3 months immunity and having COVID before PSLE is better than to get it during PSLE.

For brain fog, boost up on the fish oil.

I’m sure it is school-initated. My son’s school did not have such HBL or Zoom option for those absent with Covid (half the class was on and off home isolation at some point in time).

By the way there are also flu cases (non-covid) going around.

I thought COVID would be behind us by 2022 PSLE. I guess many parts of daily life are back to normal. But based on current protocols still need to avoid catching COVID around the actual exams or will need to rely on Special Considerations (even if feeling fine).

I guess Prelim result still fairly important this year…
