      Hi,

I am completely new to this. My daughter was born in 2018. So, her P1 registration will be in 2024 for 2025 intake.

Am I too late to consider GRL path? Some one told me I need to be GRL for 2 years to be eligible for Phase 2B.

      Thanks.
Short answer: yes, too late for this route.

If you asked me, I think the GRL path is harder and does not help volunteers to experience the school directly. It may be better if you apply for PV at your targeted school. Even if you get balloted out, at least you have experienced the school for yourself.

          Hi there

I’m very confused with the 2B GRL qualification. Appreciate for enlightenment.
I’m currently EM for Marine Parade GRL and had been 2 years to qualify. However I’ve moved to East Coast GRC and would like to apply for Temasek primary since it is less than 1km from my house.
          1) with my current status, can I still qualify to apply 2B?
          2) if not, do I need to shift my current to east coast GRC?
          3) I understand if I got promoted to associate member, I can apply any school within 1km…is it true?

          Thanks in advance

            1) Are you a GRL in a RC, NC, RN, CCC, CCMC or CDC
            2) No
            3) No

If you are GRL and serving in one of 6 committees, you can apply under phase 2B and the school within 2km of your address ie you can be in a different GRC from the school as its based on your address.

my kid is 2018 and will register for P1 in 2024. my husband is a GRL for many years, RC chairman and in CCC.

i just called St Nicks this morning, and was told by the office that they will no longer accept parent volunteers in phase 2b. only GRL and church recommendation. this leaves me in a rut now as we have not yet moved. Even if we start house hunting now, when we move and reapply for GRL in the new zone, will it be considered as be less than "two continuous years"?

Hi can I confirm that for phase 2B, I can be an EM in a GRC that does not cover the school district but can still be eligible to apply for that school if I am within 1-2km?

                    Hi experts

It is stated that parent has to be ACL for at least 2 years to qualify for phase 2B registration. Does anyone know if it is by month or by date? I ask because I will need to register my child in 2024. But now is already end July so if I start now, by day, I may be a few days short of two years. Or if I join now, July 2022, I will be qualified to apply in phase 2B come 2024 July? Assuming all other criteria are met then. Thank you!!

Even if you join now, you won’t be appointed by July (or August, or September). Hence, the answer is you will miss out.

Thank you, floppy. Means I have to have ACL status for 2 years? And not start as observer for 2 years?
