      Hello!

Any experts here can provide some insights ?

Oh. In this case, go for SCGS and pray for luck. After all, it's the nearest to you, and you have little choice but to try it out. Good luck!
I will need plenty of good luck to strike!!!

        Yeah indeed!

        Thanks 😊

          Hello !

          Thanks for the advice!

I’m actually about 5 km from MCS and within 1KM from SCGS!

In dilemma right now, worried I might make the wrong choice by gg for 2C on SCGS and SC(s) for MCS if balloted out for 2C SCGS and may not even get a place for MCS under phase 2C(s) !

          😭😭
          Hello, understand the situation.

What you write is possible but I would stay the course (2C SCGS)! Must have the courage of one's convictions! :nunchuk: :nunchuk:

Just curious, were you already situated < 1 km before the GRL rule changes? Or, everyone that was previously scattered around piled in < 1 km?

Anyways, good luck again! I think the odds should be reasonable and worth the risk :xedfingers: Pray for a celebration Tues night :celebrate:

            Hello,

            Thanks for the encouragement:)

Yeah! We have been residing the same place since day 1, to simplify means we stayed within / less than 1KM from SCGS over a decade already! Way before any GRL or rules kicked in!

So I strongly feel injustice if we do not strike under phase 2B <1KM balloting or even under phase 2C😭😭

Hi, I suggest you keep going for the lucky spin because it won’t be bad at all even if you end up in a feared “worst case scenario”:

                  - if balloted out of 2B scgs
                  - ballot again 2c scgs, if bad luck strikes twice
                  - then ballot again 2cs mcs, if you are really that unlucky to fail thrice
                  - moe will assign you to a school nearby with vacancies left after 2CS, which is most likely Fairer Park Primary School FPPS

Honestly there is nothing wrong with FPPS I have heard good things being done by the current principal who is very popular and gets compliments by many parents. The only thing uncertain is that FPPS is merging with Stamford PS next year and there will be a new principal. Anyway my friend in the school told me that there are more and more students who fail in balloting for popular schools nearby (ACSP, ACSJ, SJIJ, SCGS etc) who end up in FPPS and many of them are quite happy with the school in the end (after the initial disappointment with balloting).

Anyway since you have 3 tries the odds of you ending up in this worst case scenario is very low, and like I said even this “worst case outcome” is really an alright outcome still. You could also always apply for waitlist at SCGS as soon as possible and while transfer is not guaranteed it’s still an option to try.

Given the above I see no loss in keep trying. But anyway the odds for SCGS 2B really isn’t that bad (2/3) so maybe come Tuesday morning you would be relieved to realise that all these overthinking might not be necessary. All the best!

Must go for SCGS since u are within 1km. If many think alike like u and decide otherwise, the seats may go to 1-2km SC applicants, then u will have the greatest regrets.
