But those rejected COs only benefit the WLs, correct? Presumably, if the school gives out a rejection (i.e. not a CO or WL), the school isn't looking to reverse that. Or am I mistaken?
Don't think the school need to change the WL to CO if someone reject the CO. It is more for the school to gauge the acceptance %. Eventually the rejected CO will auto offer to WL, in priority order. I doubt that the school will even change one CO to reject, esp if the official emails are sent, what if the parent changed their mind. There will be many more consequences by doing so. No point to change the rejection to WL too, as the school won't fill up the CO with all their WL, pushing the rejection to WL is as good as giving false hope, esp if the rejections are going to join the WL from the bottom. 🤷

May I know if there’s any reason at all for a CO to be retracted by the school once it’s been issued? Has it ever happened before?

If this is true then it is really unprofessional of the school. Unless of course the student has some severe disciplinary problems- even so, the school should have checked on this before awarding an offer. I would think such incidents are few and far between cos it reflects very badly on the school.

I think you've misunderstood my point. I wasn't saying that the school would reverse a CO or WL. Rather, will the school reverse a rejection?

For example, if a student is rejected (i.e. does not get either a CO or WL), can the school later offer the student a CO or WL perhaps because the school had a low take-up rate of their COs?

To answer @mystique_j's question, I don't think any school would issue a CO/WL and withdraw it later. That would be horrendous unless there was good basis for doing so, e.g. the student had cheated or provided falsified data in the application.

                  Thanks, for the update

So, this 2022 DSA batch of RGS unsuccessful outcome is actually sent via hardcopy letter inside our postbox, not sent by electronic email method.

Yes, our children can still enter RGS, by PSLE AL score, ie. which is often the more frequently travelled upon road. All the best, to our kids ! Keep up your fighting spirit, peservere on, dont give up. Jia you (x6)

I believe the system works this way:
Once the School offer CO /WL and will be Submitted to MOE, that why there is a cut off date of 12 Sep.
After 12 sep, no more CO/WL. School involvement stop from here.

Then MOE will send to respective students to take part in the preference choice. Therefore some school will have open house of briefing to convince the CO they offered to put them as 1st choice especially some have multiple offer.

NO, After 12 sep no changes to CO/WL.

Schools not under pressure to fill up X number of DSA places. So even if CO or WL take up rate is low, school will not reverse decision on rejected students.
