Hi SG_KP1,
I thought KCPPS was 1-2 km in 2C this year? Do you recall how many vacancy and applicants for PCPS 2B and 2C this year (seems data is no longer on some other websites)?
If KCPPS was 1-2 km in 2C, you can at least try PCPS in 2B and then make a decision if unsuccessful.
Thanks SG_KP1. Yes, I happened to see KCPPS was <1 in 2C when the result first came out. Now I cannot find the data anymore :scratchhead: If anyone can recall? Yes, will be good if it is not oversubscribe in 2C phase for <1km. -

For this year (2022), during Phase 2C - there are 86 applicants for KCPPS against 67 vacancies and SC 1-2Km need to ballot.

Does the associate members need to be office bearers?
I just want to clarify here that Grassroot leaders who are “associate members” can participate in P2B as well, not just “executive members” -

You might want to consider:
Hi parents,
My son was born in 2017 and will register for P1 in June 2023. I am a GRL and residing within 1km to both Pei Chun Public school and Kuo Chuan Presbyterian.
Based on previous year (2021) statistics, during 2B phase, PCPS needs balloting within 1-2km; KCPPS no need ballot.
Under the new system this year (2022) statistics, during 2B phase, PCPS needs balloting within 1km; KCPPS need ballot within 1-2km.
If I apply to PCPS and did not get it during 2B phase, in 2C phase both schools will need to ballot within 1km and the chance of getting is extremely low.
Hence, would like to know what you will do if in my position. Should I apply for PCPS and risk not getting in 2B or choose KCPPS which will sure get during 2B phase.
Also, would like to know if there are anyone can share about the school culture and how the principals are like for both school?
Thank you so much in advance.
1) whether you are nearer to bishan or tpy as it’s a 6 years commitment and the nearer the better.
2) if your child is good at Chinese. Pcps is a SAP school
3) if you prefer to have affiliation to sec sch as a safety net
4) look at the cca, PAL and LLP and see which appeals to you most.
5) look at the odds after day 1 of phase 2b
All the best! -
Hi experts,
In order to get into primary school Phase 2B. One of the option is be active GRL. However, the school within 1km away from my place is under another GRC. Can I join a GRC which is different from the school? Or it have to be the same GRC as the school? Will the letter of recommendation from the GRL still works if is different GrC? -

Hmm... I think the new rule is that the school should be within 1km of YOUR home. Not sure if you can join a GRC that doesn't cover the school. Honestly, I think it shouldn't be a problem, but better to confirm this first with others.

Dear all,
My child was born in 2019 and i registered my interest for volunteering work via PA website in Jul2022.
I did not receive any reply after 3 months so today I headed down to the nearest CC and met a lady who introduced herself as the manager in-charge of all condos in my district. I submitted the volunteer registration form on the spot and was told to wait further until end of Dec 2022 or Jan 2023 until the RN of my condo is officially formed (completion year of my condo in 2021). She also assured me that I have sufficient time to pass the probation period and finish the 2-year requirement for my child’s primary school registration in year 2025.
My question is will it be too late if i passively wait till Jan 2023? Since i read that we should estimate the probation (or observatory) period will take about half a year, and it is a strict 2-year requirement in order to get the recommendation letter. If it is too late, is there any other avenue I can seek help from to expedite my application for the grassroots volunteering work?
Thanks all the gurus in advance for clearing my doubts. -

Would you consider to seek help from the MP in your district?

Dear all,
I am currently a GRL with RN A but will be moving to a new address within the same GRC but with a different RN (ie RN B). Seeking guidance on
1) whether I can get the phase 2B recommendation letter from current RN A (where I am a GRL) for applying to a primary school within 1km of new address (which is in the jurisdiction of RN B)?
2) Does one have to be an executive member of RN in order to be given the phase 2B recommendation letter or can an associate member qualify too?
3) for change of address, when do I have to effect the change of address in order for the phase 2B recommendation letter to reflect new address?
Thanks in advance for your views :lovesite: -
