Really arh? Hmm... then must try the ones from Japanese then. I guess the experience is like with peaches. I never liked peaches in Singapore. Then my friend came back from a peach picking excursion in San Jose and I took some samples. OMG. It was day and night. It was incredible. I fell in love with THOSE peaches. They were totally different from those I ate in Singapore. Maybe they picked the peaches weeks before they ripen before exporting to Singapore.
Huh?? No way!!! :? Avocado tastes so rich and creamy like milk compared to refreshing cucumbers taste, (the japanese ones which happened to be another fave snack I take frequently too together with radish and seaweed...so amazing!)...especially the Australian ones. Have you been to an Australian supermarket before? :boogie: I would buy all the avocados there if I could carry them home!
They were simply delectable....and rightfully so since they grew them..
The avocados I get from NTUC are very inconsistent breeds...there were days I needed to wait so long before they were edible.. -

Yes, yes. There is also a difference between air-flown or via ship. Pre-Covid, I used to buy apricots, cherries and some fresh produce from pop-up stalls that self-import. Unfortunately, no longer seeing them anymore.

We always visit farms to bring back food - honey, custard apples, avocado, mango, cherries, cheese, ... -

Japanese cucumbers are less bitter if it is ever bitter. And obviously I love sushi and that includes sushi maki.

Oh San Jose for peaches? Think so far the fresh peaches bought in Singapore has not much luck yet for me to say they tasted great. The Japanese ones in the supermarket look really good but the price is no good so yet to try....maybe one fine day....
Another fruit I have not eaten for ages is durian and I saw a box of 4-pieces-only Black Gold durian costing $40 in CS yesterday! :yikes: This is probably the highest-fever type of price I have seen for durians.

$40 for 4 pieces of durian?? Vendors are just cutting their own throats and those who buy them are just people with too much money to flaunt. Why not just donate their $$$ to people who really need it? I think there's more lasting satisfaction in there than some momentary kick from \"black gold\".

Janet, can I check with you…if I remember correctly, ds went through Poly route right? How’s his opinion on it … do you all find it difficult to get the qualifying grades at poly and later on any major roadblocks when applying to Uni?

How does the cost compare with using ordinary laundry detergent?
