I am not even in any of the school class chat grps, maybe for a short while when DD started Pr sch but exited as it was more ‘noise’ from a select few than pertinent info.

The people who like to categorise and rank others in their mind, are not worth sucking up to. That’s my philosophy. Thankfully DS has always been an optimistic person and nothing gets him down for long. He is my ray of sunshine when life gets too depressing sometimes.
That is the most impt for any parent, to see our child as our sunshine gives meaning to every waking moments & to our work both as a parent & in worklife. Kudos to Zac & I’m sure the good Lord will watch over him & bless his going & coming. Under your loving watch, I’m sure Zac will emulate the same conscientious thrive towards his life & make everything meaningful.

Be anxious abt nothing as God gives each the measure sufficient for us. I’ve learnt to be content & in contentment, I’m learning nothing else matters except in what I belief. Oftentimes I see too much anxieties abt life (esp manifested during covid) and we know for us who is in control so no need to get ourselves in anxieties trap.

Praying for Zac to always give joy to ppl ard him & for him to always be happy & fruitful in his life. 😘😘

Would u believe it, my DS class’ parent Whatsapp group is chillingly silent on the topic of exams (except for what time report/dismiss). Ditto on DSA. What that implies, I dunno. Thankfully I have some good fellow mum friends who help to share our stress and worry burden & we can talk openly F2F.
Same here. When my kids were in pri Sch, we joined the chatgrp set up by the tchrs. Since these are official chats, nothing really interesting and no one shared anything about exams or DSA. I got all my information nuggets through my grapevine (I was in PSG though not a regular but enough to know the relevant people in school). There was no official chatgrp in sec sch.

Well, I did say that many of us were fortunate - I didn't say ALL! But \"money to spend\" varies a lot from family to family and person to person. And work doesn't have to be none or full time. We all adjust the various parts of our lives to achieve something that works for ourselves. For e.g., my family rarely eats out, and even when we do, only at modest places (if I worked full time, this expenditure would definitely go up). I have never bought anything \"branded\" - unless you count Bata! My kids have been trained to use things till they fall apart before we discard them. We look for free entertainment. We do indulge ourselves in some ways, but at lower frequency with an eye on the budget. So, unless we are really at absolute subsistence level, there are choices we can make. We were tighter when there were school fees to pay, and children to support. Now they are earning, we no longer need to keep such a close eye on expenses.
Yes, you are correct, my problem is too many friends (酒肉朋友), just like this evening, a friend invited me for dinner, then I have to give \"face\" and attend. People like to play boardgames with me and if I don't go, others also not come and therefore I have to go. These types of gathering costs money....but if I don’t entertain, then I will have no friends 😢

Today chilling with DS as he’s home for entire week. Waiting long time coz want to borrow his strong muscles to get my gardening structures up. That’s the benefit of having a strong son. Hoping to grow more edibles vertically upwards to maximize space. Gardening gives me loads of satisfaction. Harvesting wing beans, kangkong & NaiBai today. Sayur Manis will go into my soup. Getting the Thai Basils & mints for my summer rolls. Cutting Pandan & some lemongrass for afternn lemongrass drink. Spotted at least 20 Mulberries fruits abt to turn dark.

His exams ended last Fri. Mentally also relaxed coz he was able to complete his NS registration & realized today is the deadline. He was chuckling that I’m probably the only mum so happy that son complete registration. Nah, I’m just watching his milestone lor.

Your son going to NS? Wah... big boy already... First time for you or you have an older son?

DS registered earlier in the month. His medical is on 22nd Oct.

Marking days today and tomorrow. He is still going back to school this week for Labs. He said many of his friends chose not to go back or make use of the Lab sessions this week as there will be more in Nov and next year as well.

I just cut some sweet basil last night for a Tuscan salmon dish. Cut some thai basil last week for 3 cup chicken. So happy that I have my herbs again. Pandan is thriving so I need to repot them soon. Forgot to get curry leaves when I bought my herbs the last time. Think we shall go grab more this weekend. Thinking of Dill but I don't use it that often.

Ok we shall not get ahead of ourselves. Still do not have that much time to tend to the plants at home.

We are having some rat issues in the garden of one of my centres. Stupid critters are digging up everything we planted. Didn't know that rats eat ginger as well. Groundnut plants all uprooted and all the nuts gone, aloes uprooted, Bayam gone, sweet potatoes gone and we cannot find the culprit/s in the day, only see the carnage. :frustrated:
