The weekend break is very much appreciated. Felt so sorry for my son after English and Math papers. He was so tired. Brought him out on Friday evening for a good meal and he could relax a little on Saturday while revising. Jia you to all P6s! 2 more papers to go!! (3 more if taking HMT!)

Ha, yes! Is Algebra so bad that they won't teach it to the P students?

As for revision, I think MOE should try to get the exams done across one week (Monday to Friday). The weekend is great but I feel that my DS' momentum waned a bit. Might have been better to just chiong all the way and get it over with at one go.
My son agrees with you. He said why can’t they just test everything in one day, get it over and done. And he is complaining that he still has HCL to get thru while afew of his classmates will be done by Tues.

But I told him, if u do all in one day, you won’t have the stamina. Your brains will be fried!! So MOE did it so students can have abit of a breather, rest abit and be more fresh for the next few papers.

IMO, on balance splitting up the tests is better for a collective cohort of 12-year-olds.

Would everyone make it through if we went M - Th (or M - F with HMT)? Of course, with some likely advantaged and some disadvantaged due to the change.

I think these tests take a lot more energy than just the hours sitting in the school hall. The break makes it easier for many to prepare for two different sets of exams, and probably makes it more likely fewer kids are running on fumes come MT and Science.

The kids will see the joy of sitting through exams one after another for a week plus in Sec 1 (EOYs).

Wow… I just realised that PSLE 2022 will be over by 4-5 Oct. 5 Oct only for those taking higher languages.

Hang in there… it will be over in 3 days!

Same boat. My DS has HCL too so he gets an extra day of pain. But I told him that in 72 hours, the PSLE will be a thing of the past.

Don't get me wrong though. I appreciate the weekend break as it provides some reprieve. But, I'm more a \"rip the bandaid off\" kinda person so I'd prefer the pain to come hard but short rather than having it dragged out.

Oh well, to each his own.

I actually appreciate the weekend break. Though u may feel like you can handle 5 days straight. We don’t know how the brain works. If too tensed up, u might forget a lot of things. ESP if the child is stressed. The breaks actually help retain more info.

Much as I would like it to be over fast, nothing beats being able to pause and regroup. I took the GRE for grad school and it was like the whole day from 8am to 10pm with some breaks in between so that we can get bites. By the time I did the last paper, I was just anyhow doing it because I was totally shagged out.

Hope all P6 kids have enough rest during this weekend and are having a good start for the challenge ahead.
