I don't think we should use \"祸不单行\" to describe this situation as all these were caused by the careless of the boy himself.[/quote]
Yes it is possible to describe the situation. 祸不单行 simply means bad thing happened one after another due to his action of not being focused.

The more accurate the story plot is in accordance to pictures' content, the higher the chance to score for content component (rubrics can be found https://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=25131&start=970#p1893302). Out of topic applies for cases when the gist/core incident is inaccurate/not mentioned.

That \"man\" appeared in 2 of the pictures if I am not mistaken, so those who mention will naturally have a higher chance of doing better (content component wise), but as I mentioned earlier, if the main theme was covered and the story ended logically (whereabouts of the phone mentioned - whether found/unfound), then no worries regarding being out of topic.

Hmmh… From what I heard, a lot of my DD’s classmates did not write about the "man" who was in 3-4 pictures… My DD wrote 命题 but I am just curious, is it necessary to talk about the man in the pictures? I heard you might be penalised if you did not talk about the man… Not sure tho. Anyways whats done is done, let’s move on to the next exam… Science

I think it depends the child thinks what role the man is in the story ? For my kid , the man was mentioned but more like a 路人甲, shocked when the incident happened and watched on as the boy picked up the stuff

my kid wrote that the man was an accomplice to the old woman who purposely knocked into the boy to steal his phone. The boy saw them running away together and fleeing in a car after his phone was stolen.
