DD2 participated in FLL (2021) and NRC(2022) but she did not manage to get any award. Does that means her chance of getting CO is very low?
She still has 1.5year to join more competitions, so don't give up.
Interview & trial are important too.
It also depends on demand & supply for that particular year.

Hi curious if anyone got a confirmed offer for dsa without any awards and academic is average? Thanks
              Yes, of course !

But first, before hand, u need to define, tell us,
what is your definition of the word \"average\" ?

              Because

Your definition and my definition, may be very different.

              For me,
              my definition of \"average\" is
              Tscore (226 to 240), range.

              To me,
              anything above Tscore 241,
is considered \"ABOVE Average\". That is, my definition.
I have to use the Tscore range to describe, because it is granular, finite, in terms of range provided.

I cannot use the AL range,
              because

the AL range, is extremely very wide.

              Answer -
By the way, in case u are wondering which Secondary school is this, well, one of the Secondary schools for your answer, posed by your question,
              is none other than ...

              SST
(the School of Science & Technology)

              where all u need is
              to
sit for 2 round of their well designed, well prepared DSA tests, and if u can pass their two tests, hip hip hurray, SST CO (DSA) is already on the way, to your house.

              For SST (CO) -
do u even need to have any kind of competition award at all, just to lay hands on CO (SST) ?
              No need lah !

Yes, true. If u had read past years 2020, 2021 and this year 2022, so many P6 candidates armed with \"Robotics\" competition award, have received SST (CO). But let me tell you, in stark contrast, on the opposite side, there are also many P6 candidates, who never even gotten any single award, be it Robotics or otherwise, also gotten exactly the same, identical SST (CO).

              And
              Besides the named popular SST,
              of course,
there are also some other Secondary schools that also do issued out COs to P6 students,
with my definition of \"Average\" Tscore range
              And
without any so called competition Award.

              But take note.
My above answer, is meant for applying DSA, into 4 years' course O-level Secondary schools.

If u are applying for DSA into IP schools, u need to have gotten some award
of some sort, to support your DSA application. Basically, u need to ask yourself first, \"which School, am I applying DSA for ? \"

It will be tricky, but not impossible, especially if you're going after the hotly contested schools. Much depends on the student's interests and passions. Awards are also limited so it's not realistic for everyone to have an award but if their interest is evident (through participation in the courses and events) in the submission, then there's surely a chance that he/she may be called for an interview. At that interview, that interest will be examined and if it is found to be genuine and it shines through, then (like I said) a CO is not impossible πŸ™‚

I see. Thanks for the inputs πŸ™πŸ» my girl is p5 this year and avg results 220-240 AL15 and above currently. In dance cca and no outside training except SYF. Was thinking of cedar girls or crescent girls o levels track. Not sure if it’s possible.. likes to sing and play badminton for leisure. But not sure any schools will accept her if no background for those ccas.

Is your P5 daughter a school prefect, or hold any Leadership position ? Does she have any Eagles character award ?

                      If Yes,
she can apply to Cedar Girls' Secondary, under \"Social Innovation\". Choose \"No preference\". Let Cedar Girls school management decide themselves, whether want to offer your girl IP or O-level track.

Which Primary school does your daughter come from ? Do not reply me, in this forum. Is only for yourself, to ask.

                      Because

If your daughter come from GEP schools like RGPS (example) or Rosyth primary,
                      Tscore 240
can be equivalent to another primary school student's Tscore being 250.
