May I know what Social Innovation domain is about, in terms of criteria? I’ve always been curious to know. Thx!
      Inside \"Cedar Girls Secondary\" -

where \"Social Innovation\" is concerned, if you got Leadership exposure, be it school prefect or otherwise in your own primary school, as long as involved Leadership exposure, can proceed to apply.

The word \"Innovation\", means to innovate. So, think along the line, whereby let's say in her prefectorial duties, has she ever done anything creative in problem solving a situation or a scenario ? Then, u elaborate how this has benefited the school. The word \"Social\" means society. In the primary school context, the immediate application of the word \"social\", is directly within her primary school premises or compound or environment. That means, had she done anything before, to help her school, that has benefited everybody inside the school ? Think along this line.

In society, at large, think along someone, like Thomas Edison.
What did he do ? He discovered or invented .... electricity.
Switch on the light bulb, no need to live like a cavemen anymore, or no need to light up candles, or light up oil lamp, to study in the dark anymore.
So, did Thomas Edison invent anything or did something, to benefit mankind (humanity) ?
      Yes, of course.
Without him, we will still be living in darkness, the old stone age, instead of ....
      let there be light

Your girl still got one more year to go, still got time to do something, to help her school

Has anyone successfully received a CO/WL for rgs visual arts? Wondering how competitive this domain is for rgs, if anyone has any experience to share would be appreciated.

Hi. I think everything at RGS is very competitive 😂 . I've heard of two Visual Arts CO this year, there may be more. Although realistically, I would think this domain is low single digits CO/WL per year (I could be wrong / don't know for sure though).

Hopefully someone else with direct experience can shed more light on the situation. Good luck!

You are correct. I think it’s just 3 DSA spots. My daughter is in Arts CCA, total 13 Yr1 girls in the club now. She tried to apply VA for DSA but not called for interview. Standard is high, such that my daughter was feeling quite intimidated during the CCA auditions.

If wanna try the DSA, have to ensure the submitted 10pieces of work is solid, plus academic should comfortably show that she can cope with RGS IP (<AL10)

Probably when your friend says without experience, means no competition awards etc.

I can’t imagine getting CO not being able to dance at all.

Ya that’s what I thought too. She said no background though. So I don’t know. Wonder if it happens often.

                        Sounds like too humble??

I took a look at their criteria. It is stated need track record of at least some performance. Or at least ballet lessons.
