congratulations to those who has received notifications! may I check if your school will still sent notification to those who has not passed 1st round via PG?
      I don’t think so.

Naturally - can’t imagine the teacher sending out notices to 90% of the kids. That’s in the range of 28,000+ kids for round 1.

Congrats to the successful kids. All the best for round 2 on 19 Oct 2022.

        Curious question:

How does MOE post the kiddos during school selection of this GEP program?
If there’s a nearer GEP school but it has higher MT which the child doesn’t take or the culture differs greatly from child’s previous school, what are the odds of getting into the further school with no higher MT and has similar school culture?

Most that we knew receive their first choice. Not sure if there has been changes.

There are different factors such as whether the student is already studying in the GEP school, sibling's current school (if GEP school), location (vs home address), SAP Vs non-SAP, ...

IIRC, parents will be asked to submit 4 choices.

              All the best.

If a child did not receive the letter or notification, it is not a true reflection of his or her abilities. Majority of the kids in my kid’s school are from mainstream and are also brilliant and talented. In fact, many are more resilient and needed less time to adjust.

😂 Just reached home and my DD3 showed me the letter that she passed round one. I already know from the notification from PG. She said the teacher gave the letters out in class and the rest of the class clapped for those who passed.

My DD1 and DD2 both passed round one ( but both didn't get through round two.). Back in those days, the teacher called those who qualified to go outside the classroom, gave them the letter discreetly and told them not to show off to the rest of the class. My DD2 said - when the teacher called me from outside the classroom, I thought I got into some trouble!
                      😂

Hi, This is Garry from Avocado Lab. C+ Day 0 today, super bored in isolation and decided to come up with a super low cost GEP Selection Test online course to benefit everybody. I am a 'mild' case and so when a parent suggested that I run workshops for the GEP Selection Test, the idea sparked so much joy and drive in me!

I have always detested how the industry makes a quick buck off anxious and hopeful parents, and how unfair it can be for talented but less wealthy kids who cannot afford such classes. We want to try to level the playing field for everyone.

And so, to cut it short. $120 for 12 lessons of 2 hours each.

You can find more details and the FAQ here at
                        https://avocadolab.sg/holiday-workshops/
