Thank you for the encouragement, I will let him know as well. By the way, he is from Neighbourhood school not from GEP school.
Let him know many roads lead to Rome as long as he is passionate about something.
Work on things he can control and let go of things he cannot for now.
First time maybe a mistake of assessment of his abilities but this mistake cannot repeat itself forever as long as he is good.
Also, if you feel he can contribute in Math competition, seriously don't forget to check with the teacher, or the teacher may even alert you later cos some GEP schools open participation for some Math competitions to every class, not just GEP. All the best to him! -

That’s y gep was never only a maths test.
If your child is exceptional in Math but not in GEP, talk to the Math teacher because schools typically want to send kids they know can make the school proud. Lim Jeck is not a GEPper but he was the most well-known kid in Math competitions and represented Singapore.
“Nominate Zeng” is not a gepper too but we all know what a genius he is - when he outshone everyone at the University Challenge. (Including his teammates from Imperial) -

Schools usually send any student who is interested (no restriction) to participate in popular Maths Olympiads such as NMOS, SMOPS, RIPMWC, ....Thank you for the encouragement, I will let him know as well. By the way, he is from Neighbourhood school not from GEP school.
Do check with your son's Maths teacher on the above. Also check whether his school conducts Maths Olympiad lessons (some schools hire external vendors).
You can also expose your son to Maths Olympiad questions (e.g., books from Popular bookstore, past years' Olympiad questions, ...).
There are mainstream students who do very well in Maths Oympiads.
All the best. -

Hello, the GA English and Maths in Gep round 2 usually is a tricky one or a basic practice should suffice?
-
Hello Parents
How was the English paper? Do share your child’s experience. My daughter said GA was a bit tricky but doable. -
Mine wasn’t extremely confident. Said it was quite tough and said he used up his brain cells, can’t recall anything anymore. Haha

Hi. Just checking if anyone knows… is the GEP examination papers the same among the 9 schools?
For notes-wise, I noticed it was cascaded from the GE branch. I would presume that exam setting is done centrally? This would also give a better assessment of the entire batch
I stand guided 🙏🏽 -
It’s the same cause several school come to one school to do the same paper. So should be the same island wide.
