We should respect all parents decision. That’s nothing wrong with applying the schools that you are yet to decide, and or to turn down the offer. All schools have WL, and the rejected CO will go to WL anyway. If you are not in the WL, then chances are even if the reject COs never apply the DSA spots, you won’t get it any way isn’t it. It is good to plan in a way that you have more time to think about it than regret after the deadline. Anything can happen during PSLE, good to have some backup plans and there is nothing wrong about it. Everyone has different thoughts on whether to accept the CO or not and your thoughts may not apply to another parent.

Altho’ for our case, we are accepting the CO. That’s because during the application, we thought thru and decided to just apply to 2 schools that my DS will have no issue to accept if given a CO, as we believe that he can always use his result to apply to other backup schools if anything happen. But that is our decision and our choice and this applied to our situation which can be very different for other family.

Did any parent receive an invitation for a camp at NUS high? The invitation says that the camp is this Friday and to confirm attendance by tomorrow?

Yes, received this morning. I don't think it is mandatory. Just sounds like a fun activity for the kids who were given CO to NUSH to experience the school environment and help them in their decision making.

Personally, I feel that there’s no issue applying for 2-3 sch. The DSA experience is a good way for the kid to learn more about a school. If the vibes were negative during the DSA experience, then by all means decline the CO, even if it’s the only one.

Open Houses are mass events while the DSA exercise may offer a more personal experience from a kid’s perspective. Let the kid decide after his DSA experience. I feel that the world is grey and not everything can or should be defined by hard-and-fast rules beforehand.

May I know which result they are looking for dsa selection? P5 SA2, P6 SA1 and prelim? P5 not the overall performance right?AL based on just SA2 alone? My girl don’t score well in P5 WA, will not be counted correct?

I believe that much depends on the school but I suspect that most will consider P5 SA2 and P6 MYE results.

Next year there is no P6 SA1, only Prelim? If so, schools only have one "full exam" (P5 SA2) to consider. All the rest will be WAs, CAs, etc.

All academic results, as long as recorded in the report book, can be viewed by the school the child has applied to. I believe all p5 and 6 results are fair game.

once your primary school Admin staff uploaded all Report card results, ranging from P1 to P6 mid year exam in May, for DSA purpose -

all Secondary school officers in charge of those maximum allowed attempt,
                      ie.

three DSA schools which your child had applied for,
are able to see everything, in great lengthy detail.
There is absolutely NO way to hide from them, once everything (info) has been uploaded, into the database server,
regardless whether your kid's results are good, or no good.
