Although I hear about the rate of reinfections, I think I've only know (as opposed to \"know of\") 1 person who got reinfected. So the reinfection rate doesn't seem that high to me - I surely know more than 10 people.
I was so sure of my \"invincible status\" till I got reinfected.
Good news is it was relatively mild - 2 days at most then still had some sore throat and cough, tested negative in on Day 4, and recovered from cough less than a week .
Bad news was I probably spread it to 2 people (who hadn't got Covid before) , so felt quite guilty 😞

So yeah, anecdotal but do take a little extra precautions - test and isolate , if needed.

Have you taken the 2nd booster before the re-infection?

I'm not sure of my invincible status at all - but I haven't even had it the first time! Not because I have been particularly careful - I just keep to whatever the current rules are at the time. Now I'm doing my best not to catch anything as I'm travelling next week.

Depending on who you passed it to - if they were the particularly vulnerable, I guess I would feel guilty too. But if they are generally healthy individuals, you probably did them a favour. My office had 3 people who hadn't yet got Covid (out of 15) until last week; now there are 2 of us left still looking over our shoulders.

Since a few weeks ago, I have been arguing with my manager as he did not want to take the 02nd booster. He said he did not want to suffer a day of fever after the jab and he believed he would not catch the second time. We were still talking about the new bivalent vaccine last Friday and he said he may consider only after he finished his project on hand.

This morning, when I stepped into my office, everyone were talking about my manager caught the second time and have to rest at home. He said he has got severe symptoms this time… kept on coughing…fever…lose of smell and taste and he is regret did not take the 02nd booster. His project have to be taken up by other colleagues.

So please don’t wait, take your 02nd booster fast. I have been 苦口婆心地 reminding again and again.

Is the Moderna bivalent booster already available for those below 50yrs old?

I thought it will only be available for those 18-49yrs later this year. Those below 18 no news yet

I called and found out that only 18 and above can take the bivalent.

Those 18-49 can take the bivalent via walk-in (u can call to double-check), PROVIDED it is their first, or second, or third dose.

It is not yet an option for age 18-49 wanting their 4th dose.
