Thank u. All the best to the other P6s (and parents) as well!

While we are all counting down to 11am for any press release from MOE today…maybe we could give some thought (however macabre) about worst-case scenarios…and how we can regulate our own emotions while also encouraging our kids to bravely continue on.[/quote]
Wah! Your sourche ish berry berry goooood!

Actually I don't understand why \"Macabre\" and worst case scenarios? :? Why using such negative words? Not Death Penalty and No need to \"Die\". 又不是沒有飯吃. :siao:

I believe most P6 students are able to enroll in a secondary school to continue study, it is only which school and whether it is under IP, O level, N level path, etc. Even go under N level can still go Poly and Uni nowadays. If your original objective (初心) of going to school is to acquire knowledge, then the release of PSLE results will not be \"Macabre\"

I actually agree. Sometimes, it's better to plan for the worst and hope for the best. You obviously don't want the worst to happen but it helps to mentally be prepared. This makes it easier to accept and to react/respond in a way which is less hurtful and traumatic.

Kids are usually affected or follow their parents emotions in long term - if the parents are always anxious on their exam results, then they will feel anxious about exam and when the parents are disappointing when the exam results are below their expectation, they will be also disappointed on themselves.

That's why, as parents, we need to be prepared for a whole range of results. From the very best to potentially the very worst so that we are able to react appropriately. This \"preparation\" is in the minds of the parents only. Sometimes, parents expect so much and when it does not materialize, the kneejerk reaction can be very damaging. To avoid this, mental preparation can help soften the blow.

While we parents say we prepare ourselves for the worst, sometimes some emotions just can’t be helped. I recalled on PSLE day itself years back, the discipline master came up to me prior to the announcement and said “your girls did well”…… it sounded good right but at that moment I looked at my hubs and my thoughts were “why well only? Why not very well? Why not excellent? Did they underperform?”. Such thoughts were really racing through my head and I told my hubs “ok let’s brace ourselves up for the unexpected results”….
