Hi All,

Any idea how MOE allocates Malay Special Programs? My son is offered MSP on top of 3rd language options.
My daughter who did better than his brother 2 years ago in PSLE was not offered MSP

Hi. My boy got al7 , thinking of the following choices in order
1st choice (cop7 ip): acs (I)
2nd choice (cop 7 ip): njc
3rd choice (cop8d ip): catholic

Does it make sense? What are our chances to get into the 1st/2nd choice?

I think the first choice is anyone's guess as it most likely involves balloting. However, I personally doubt if your kid stands a good chance for 2nd choice though as the order of selection plays a part there - but it won't hurt trying as long as you have other safer options. One thing to note is that Catholic High is an SAP school - HCL score plays an important role if its COP is pushed from 8 to 7 this year.

My gal AL 6M. She plans to put down RGS as her 1st choice, followed by St Nicks and Cedar. Any advice? She’s understands she may get balloted out at her 1st choice.

Did your son take Conversational Malay module in P3/P4/P5 before? Maybe this could be the reason? What about Bahasa Indonesia/Arabic? Was your son offer those too?

No, he never taken any Malay module before. Neither did he take HCL 😂😂
And yes, besides MSP, he is offered bahasa Indonesia/ Arabic too.
I’m just puzzled how MOE allocate/ offer MS.

My son got 10. Is it advisable to try RV where the COP is 9? We are also thinking of SJI, nan hua and bukit panjang. Any advice from anyone on SJI vs the other 2?

Hmm....seems like MOE just offered ALL the foreign languages for your son and whoever eligible to take :rotflmao:
