What is the passing mark for
PSLE subject (English, Maths, Science, Mother tongue) ?

      Is it
      (45 or 50 or 51) marks, upon 100 ?

According to above, to clear PSLE, bare minimum need AL7 for both English and Maths, which is 40/200 for English and 20/100 for Maths.

Otherwise repeat PSLE. Cannot repeat under other circumstances eg 49/100.

Hi, anyone know of any recommended PSLE 3 or 10 year series? So many types in popular bookstore so not too sure which are the better ones. Thanks!

Most people recommend buy the one by EPH publisher cos it has better answer key, worth paying the extra dollar or so.

For Science, dont bother with the Topical version (just get the 3-yearly). That’s cos the topics are so broadly divided into Life Science & Physical Science (2 categories only), not even worth splitting.

For Math, topical version has more topics but probably not useful for higher ability kids.

Schools will usually ask the P6s to buy the latest 3-year series and teachers will go through some/all of these papers.

You can buy from Popular in advance (say when the child is in Upper Primary) if you want an extra year or two for
                  practice.

It is better to rely on school's answer keys than those from publishers.

                  All the best.

Does that mean the 2022 PSLE kids will do N levels in 5 years and finish their secondary school the same year as 2023 PSLE kids?

Based on what we know so far, that would very much seem like the case.

2023 Sec 1 NA will sit for their N Level in 2026 and O Level in 2027.
2024 Sec 1 G2 will sit for a common national exam in 2027.

I'm wondering why this isn't discussed much so far.

You were guessing that the official announcement would be made in 2023?

As for discussion/ queries, I asked around (elsewhere) last year when I saw kiddo’s P5 results and was worried will fall into Exp/NA option band. Didnt get any solid answers. Most tutors were just saying take N levels in Sec 4 and then go PFP. No one said to continue onto Sec 5 for O levels (not even if some remnant SBB L1R5 subjects needed the O cert).
