Hi…
What r the chances of getting the 2 bonus points for CCA participation for purposes of JC admission? Heard that for some sec schools, it’s abt 95%. Is that quite standard for all schools? -

:thankyou: :celebrate:
Good chance to get into SNGS or RVHS, otherwise a very good chance (90%) to be in CHIJ TPY.
Not sure what you meant by MGS affiliation ... do you mean its affiliation to ACJC?
All the best.
Yes affiliation to ACJC
But MGS is honestly just a filler because COP last year was 8 and factor of citizenship
Will update here when result is out 🙏😇 -

Same case with my DD her Sci was from AL1 slided down to AL3 was completely shocking,
My fren’s daughter’s science also fell from AL1 to AL3. Her science is usually AL1 every term, she even got top in cohort for science. So her AL3 was a complete shock to her too.
Mine more or less maintained for math, science and Chinese but improved in English. English was the shocker for us, totally unexpected.
not a TOP primary/SAP school but she’s in the Science club, chosen for Science (and Math) Olympiad, got several awards in Sci and Best of Science subject (top 5% cohort) this year.
She could get overall AL6 if maintained prelim Sci score, but things happened :imanangel:
Still grateful with what she gets now 🙏😇 and we fully accept the result without prejudice 🤣
*the girls in the school are talking about the “sh💩t” and mosquito question until now because they still didn’t know the answer 😅😅 -

My dd is in a SAP school. Top 10% in cohort and top 3 in class every year. We could not accept it. We requested for review.
OMG what a nightmare….
I hope she’s okay and not discouraged
It must be very hard for you and her
If I were you I would also appeal and ask for review!! But how about school choices while waiting for the appeal result (guess won’t be so fast), anyone experience/ heard abt similar cases before? -
Hi may I get some opinions. If my DS gets AL16, is it wise that I choose the 6 choices ranging from schools with COP 15 to COP18? Or is it safer to buffer safety net till COP19?

The review takes about three weeks, and the appeal outcome will be released through the schools.

While waiting for your appeal outcome to be released, you should continue applying to your selected secondary schools.
- If your appeal is successful and you would like to change your secondary school choice, you can approach the MOE contact indicated in the appeal outcome letter for assistance.

MOE website advised :

“Consider at least 2 to 3 schools where your child's PSLE score is better than the school's COP in the previous year.”
But didn’t mention about how much better it should be ….
For us we included one school where DD score is the highest in the range
(for ex in your case is AL16 so we will choose one or two schools which have range 16-19 or 16-22) but this might not pleasant,
just our consideration for 💯 safety (citizenship factor also) so you don’t have to follow
I think it’s really depend on school that you choose (popularity, primary affiliation etc)
Best is also to discuss with your DS for his school preference, culture, distance, and strategize the choice ranks because now it’s a very important factor in case have tie breaker situation.
“ Rank your preferred school higher in your school choice order. The higher your preferred school is ranked, the better your child’s chance of being posted into that school, if they need to go through tie-breaking situation.”
Good luck! :celebrate: -

Safe. But much safer to include at least 1 choice with a COP 19 school.
