and the 🦃 Turkey question also 😝💩
Same case with my DD her Sci was from AL1 slided down to AL3 was completely shocking,
not a TOP primary/SAP school but she’s in the Science club, chosen for Science (and Math) Olympiad, got several awards in Sci and Best of Science subject (top 5% cohort) this year.
She could get overall AL6 if maintained prelim Sci score, but things happened :imanangel:
Still grateful with what she gets now 🙏😇 and we fully accept the result without prejudice 🤣
*the girls in the school are talking about the “sh💩t” and mosquito question until now because they still didn’t know the answer 😅😅 -

It was indeed very hard to swallow and we broke down. Couldn’t believe our eyes. She cried the whole day…😭 It was really heartbreaking. I Had no idea what happened during the exams. She said everything was manageable and much easier than prelims. Whole family was utterly shocked. Her friends couldn’t believe it either. Some thought she was joking.
:yikes: :yikes: :yikes:
OMG what a nightmare….
I hope she’s okay and not discouraged
It must be very hard for you and her
If I were you I would also appeal and ask for review!! But how about school choices while waiting for the appeal result (guess won’t be so fast), anyone experience/ heard abt similar cases before?
Had a hard time choosing schools as we had never imagined or planned for this AL range. I’m glad she’s feeling better this few days though. It hasn’t been easy for all of us. -

I have no words,
I couldn’t imagine what you’ve been through
But I believe she’s strong and she will get through it, I hope all the best for her and her next journey 🙏🌷 -

I can totally relate. DS Maths drop AL1 to AL4. He is in SAP school. He has never scored below 90 marks in all 6 years. He was very confident he will get into his dream IP school. But everything is dashed now. We tried to rationalized what could go wrong. From his horrible handwriting to his messy presentation of all the workings etc. Guess we will never know.

My consolation is how he handle the whole situation. He is more mature than me! I am the one crying while he is the one consoling me and repeating to me what I told him about how his PSLE results doesn't define his future etc. I am the one who keep wanting to appeal to review his Maths. He is not keen but he says if it makes me feel better, I can go ahead. He told me he has come to terms with his results and will be happy and contented to go into either of his first 2 choices of \"o\" levels school.
This incident also brought us closer. He hugs me daily this week to make sure I am ok. Our roles reversed.
Although he scored AL4 for Maths, his attitude is definitely AL1.

Get him to join dual track schools like Victoria. At end of Sec 2, if his results are good, he can still seek Transfer into IP, starting Sec 3.
If one can't start IP from Sec 1, still can start IP from Sec 3, onwards. -

Just wanna say option 4 to 6 are high risk options given that they are schools with affiliated primary schools, i.e. their COP will also be affected by the number of places available after their affiliated primary schools have taken up the available places (up to 80%). If both 5 and 6 COP improve by 1 point, you could end up in a balloting situation and with rank choice being a determining factor, you may end up with no schools of your choice. Best to include at least 1 school with +2 or +3 better than last year's COP.
Hi my dd got 14M her choices are as below:
1. NCHS 12(D)
2. TKGS 13
3. TKSS 14
4. St Joseph Covent 14
5. St Hilda sec 15
6. Geylang Methodist 15
Do u think she has a chance to go TKSS if the first 2 fails? Thanks -

Consistent AL1 student in Maths for past few years suddenly scored 75%-79%. It is quite unbelievable. Just go for a review. If 79% add 1 more mark will be AL3 and the choice of sec sch will be different again.

Maybe the beauty of tscore is when we receive our kids results, we see an “A”. We do not know whether it’s a high A or low A. Or we can even console ourselves that we are just 1 mark shy of A*.
Some yrs back before the start of AL banding, some parents here joked that just 1-2 careless mistake in every subject, an AL4 pointers may become AL8 pointers. Seems like the worry is not without basis. -
Was told that review of scores goes both ways. May deduct points too. But requester specific or not don’t know. Not sure how true.
But for some, it could be for closure.
