am really silly; i like passbook a/c bec i enjoy seeing the machine printing the transactions on my passbook. Passbook a/cs give the lowest or negligible interest rates.
I like them too! We had one for each of my children when they were in preschool. Moving along, now we do online banking and no longer use the books.

The reason of using a passbook is I can trace all the transactions.

For online, I doubt u can trace a couple of years ago. I dislike banks sending me the monthly statements bec I would hv to file them.
Yes, I do hv a/c w/o passbooks and I would have to view the transactions online.

Same reasons that we can trace all the transactions. Easier for children also, as they can see what’s being recorded. We had fun saving up! I also wrote beside the transaction.. all these are good memories.

I also dislike bank’s monthly statements .. I store them in a shoe box. 😆

Can switch salary & move bill pymts thro credit cards but troublesome. The killer is the tiering system. Criteria to meet every tier then get full 7.8%. Hv to read the fine prints.
Yes, I noticed the tiers too. As per MKS’s post, the effective rate is about 5% after taking into account the tiers. Thank you for highlighting it too!

Yesterday I saw the published rate at counter of uob bank is from 3.55% to near 4% for higher amt deposit. 6mths & 12 mths like not much difference to me.
